Bravo's Blow Out and Jonathan Antin Products

KC <cmk1...@earthlink.net>
I don't know if anyone here watches this show, but the second season
just started tonight and much of the episode revolves around
Jonathan's dream of creating the greatest products on earth, or maybe
in the universe! That is, when he's not sitting in his therapist's
office crying over all the stress he's under. Anyway, he states that
if he can get this product line off the ground, he could be the most
famous hairdresser ever. I'm not kidding.
Anyway, in a surprising bit of coincidence <snort>, his products are
debuting on QVC tomorrow! I just have to watch this, if only to see if
his ego can fit on the stage.

I watched it and thought "this is enough material to make a whole
television series?" The first season was interesting in a
background–noise–while–I–do–something–else kind of way, but this one,
I dunno.
I mentioned "Blow Out" to my hairdresser last Saturday and she said
she had watched a few shows of the first season but didn't enjoy it
because it reminded her of the stresses she had when she owned her own
salon plus she thought most of the stylists featured were jerks.

Is that part of becoming MORE FAMOUS THAN VIDAL SASSOON?

LOL! Talk about delusions of grandeur. I like the hair he does, but I
don't think it's revolutionary. It's sort of Playboy hair, which I
like fine, but I never see him do anything other than that. He stated
last night that he charges $500 for a haircut. His stylists charge a
couple of hundred a piece, too, and I don't see anything being done by
them, either, that's *that* special.

I love this show. I had a huge crush on Jonathan when I first saw Blow
Out, but after watching the marathon last weekend, he got on my nerves.
I still like the show – I would have like to see the QVC program.

Well, I have to say that he was great on QVC. He just had a 15 minute
spot where they sold one of his products, but I have to say he was
charming. When the host said they had a caller, he excitedly said,
"Oh, we're going to take calls!" He came off as genuine and sweet, no
hint of the self–importance he sometimes shows on Blow Out. I will say
that as much as he went on and on about how gorgeous that new stylist
is on his show (the one that looks like a stripper, well, the one that
looks *the most* like a stripper), his girlfriend was surprisingly
plain.
His next appearance on QVC will be July 15th at 7pm EST. He will have
the whole hour.
Oh and at the end of end QVC spot, he said, "I'm all about the hair."
