good jeans

"donna5657" <donnaivanise...@sbcglobal.net>
I need jean advice! It seems that I am a little too large for sevens,
lucky, etc....I tried on some brand at Lane Bryant and they are too
big. Can anyone suggest a brand that is about a size 12, tall in
length, sits below the waist, and is bootcut or flared? Maybe I'm just
missing something, but I just can't find anything great.
TIA,
Donna

Donna, I've been looking for good jeans for awhile and I finally found
some Levi's I like at Target! I couldn't believe it. They fit
beautifully, are low rise (but not too much so, just enough) bootcut,
dark rinse, have nice stretch –– and are even a size smaller than I
usually get! (I usually get a 10 but these are size 8!) I saw lots of
different sizes on the racks too –– and they were only 19.99. I just
love Tarjay sometimes!
Also picked up a gorgeous Isaac Mizrahi black pleated skirt with
embroidery. Lovely and very flattering.

Have you tried Avenue or Ashley Stewart?

I really like JAG jeans which are sold at Nordstrom. I also get a good
fit and length with Ralph Lauren jeans.

Well, believe it or not, my fav jeans are from Old Navy – they come it
tall, slightly flared and sit just below the waist. I have a boyish
shape – big waist, small hips – and these jeans rocks. And they're cheap
(as in price, not quality).

The problem sounds familiar. If a 32 is a 12, why can't I fit into
it??? I wear a 12 in Halogen from Nordstrom, which has some adorable,
and LONG styles...my current faves are halogens with deep pockets in
front & pockets with flaps in back...and they were only about $59 on
sale. (you have to have slim thighs for Halogen jeans, though, so be
warned!)
I also love Old Navy's stretch boot cut, low rise jeans – they run
huge, and long – I wear a 10 in these, lol.
I've gotten several good pairs from Banana Republic in 12L and they're
roomy and very long (I'm 5'11" and I can wear these with high heels or
boots)
Last, but not least, how about good old Levis? I wear men's to get
them long enough, but they fit just beautifully...

Those are plus–size stores – if the OP is a misses 12 – she's not a
plus size.
Go to The Gap and Old Navy – they usually have many different kinds and
rises of jeans. I can't help you with the trendier styles, but Eddie
Bauer has several fits too.
Or you could try dept stores like Nordstrom – they have both jrs and
misses depts, so you could try them both.
(there are a lot of jeans experts here – I'm sure they'll all chime in
too)

brands, styles to think about for donna
1) christopher blue. would be perfect
ditto David Kahn also you might try to find the most conservative cut
in red engine
2) levis premium will have sizes and styles for you.... honest!!
3) avenue has a brand new style of jeans that is SO CUTE and it comes
in a size 14 as the smallest and goes up and it's cute to see.

I have a hard time finding jeans that fit b/c I'm petite (but in height
only... I'm chubby around the middle) and very curvy. I've been able
to find Silver Jeans that fit me pretty well. However, my favorite
store for finding not–too–small, not–too–big clothes is New York and
Company. I found a fabulous pair of jeans there just the other day.

Hmmm just purchased some Old Navy jeans online because the store does not
carry the petite in size one. I usually wear a two. They do run large.

Try Old Navy "Just Below the Waist" or "Low Rise". Those are the ones I like
and wear regularly. ( I used to like Mossimo at Target but the styles Target
carries have changed since I bought mine. ) The JBW come in boot cut in LONG
lengths, too (see oldnavy.com). The LR Stretch bootcut also come in LONG
lengths. I love the LR Stretch jeans. I'd suggest investigating online at
the website and write down the ones you want to try on when you get to the
store.
