my foundation is too yellow for me

Hi,
I tried a sample of Clinique Superbalanced Makeup and I really like the
product.
The color I have is Ivory, which is Neutral in tone. It's a good match
when blended but I'd say it's just a slight bit too yellow, which I
notice mostly on my forehead.
What does this mean? would I be better with a pink shade, or a gold
shade (I see Clinique make their foundations in P, N and G undertones).
I'm kinda new with foundation, how do I tell if I'm pink, neutral or
gold? I'm guessing gold would be even more yellow? so gather maybe a
pink tone is for me? I just don't like the sound of pink skin.
