Mother–of–the–bride NEEDS recs for long–lasting lippies!!!

"SueB" <zob...@yahoo.com>
I've got everything put together but a good long–lasting lipstick.
I've Googled, but couldn't find anything really recent. I've been out
of the makeup loop for a while, so I don't know if anything about the
newer ones. I tried Outlast when it came out, and I thought it sucked.
PLEASE help! Something that will do well on a Florida beach,
drug–store or high–end. TIA!

Sue, the trick is to layer several colors and then top with a nice gloss
even a clear one. If I layer three to four lipstick colors they will
last throughout an entire event.I use regular lipstick.

For drug–store bargains, I like Revlon Colorstay. Because it's very
similar to my natural lip color, Rosetone is my favorite color for
everyday use in all seasons except summer, when I prefer lighter,
pinker, glossier shades. I can get a half day's use out of it before
re–applying. It can be a little dry and matte, however, so I use
chapstick or gloss over it, or often layer another lipstick over it.
Exfoliate your lips first before applying it. Put on the first coat,
finish the rest of your make–up, then reapply a second coat before you
go out the door. Don't blot. Top with gloss or another layer of
lipstick if you like, and blot that if necessary.
Even though it feels dry, it must lock in moisture or something,
because ever since I started using this brand my chapped lips greatly
improved.
Have fun and congrats!

Try Max Factor's Lipfinity. Stays on for hours and hours. Although I
also use the Covergirl Outlast, the Lipfinity is my preference..

For everyday long lasting color I use Revlon Colorstay and reapply the
gloss evry 4 hours or so.
I love the way it looks and feels and it lasts.( Now I'm using their
shimmer sheers.)
For when I want long lasting color I put on Styli–Style Lip Stain in
Mississippi red, it will last for 18 hours and more, then you can put
another lippie on top of that, and a gloss.
Have fun!

I don't know whether they're considered long lasting, but L'Oreal
Couleur Riche are great for me. The color really does last and the
stain is intense.
I apply LipFix first, then the first coat of color. I wait a minute or
two, blot, and apply the second coat. Repeat for third layer. Don't
blot, if you want shine.
You might also try the time–honored dusting of powder on the lips
between applications. I haven't noticed any dramatic results, but
others think it works well.

One way to make color last is to line and fill in with lip pencil
first, then apply lipstick over that. A wonderful liner that's soft
enough to fill in with is Almay, the mechanical pencil type. I
especially love their Mauve lip liner.
