Sunday Activities

"Stevie" <privilegemagaz...@charter.net>
.. I went to a baseball game today. It was the LA Angels (though based in
Anaheim) playing the Kansas City Royals.. it was an interesting game..
we left at the bottom of the 7th inning ( I suddenly became a baseball fan
last year when I went to a playoff game. go figure) and we are part of a
pool of season ticket holders.
anyway, ate weird junk food... super nachos with chicken and chili.... some
popcorn, 1/2 a churro, ice cream sundae, lots of water. I then went to buy
the SO an Angels shirt (had to size down for him.. They were huge) so I got
a tee for me and had to size up not one but TWO freaking sizes. They were
out of mediums because I would have bought that. the smalls were a hair too
small. (and being 100% cotton, I know what would happen.. doll clothes after
spending time in the dryer) so I got a large and HOPE and PRAY that it will
shrink about 10% –– or more!–– to make it work for me
so .. what did YOU do today?
Stevie
ps the Angels won pulling it out by a hair in the bottom of the 9th inning

I wouldn't have thought it would be that close; I'm a KC Royals fan for
over 25+ years and I'm the first one to tell anyone that they haven't been
a good team since they won the Series in 1985. Sniff.
As much as I'd have like to see a Royals game (I love them through thin and
thin) I had a great day spending valuable shopping time with some great
AFers in day 3 of the AFDC yearly gathering. Three of them even got to
witness a singular event, as I bought my first (and most likely) last real
honest–to–god authentic brand new Chanel bag. At a Chanel boutique, even.
I'm surprised the heavens didn't open with a lightning bolt strike on my
Visa card. :) But it was my self–promised, self–purchased birthday gift
in anticipation of the big 4–0 early next month, so what the hell.
Michele, especially glad to have a real holiday tomorrow (my new job gets
*all* the govt holidays)

oh I think that's MORE important than a baseball game!

That is an absolutely awesome purchase so please describe it.

Stevie, you are making me homesick. I spent my teens and 20's going to
Angels games. My parents had season seats four rows behind home plate.
They recently had to give them up because they are planning to leave
the state. : (
I can't seem to get behind the Phillies.... I try. I find myself
rooting for the Yankees now however my heart will always belong to the
Angels.

well the tickets we have are right behind home plate but WAAAAAAY up
there in the nosebleed section but you do have an awesome view of the
field.
Also they have much improved the food selection but why is it when one
goes to a game like that you end up picking up the gnarliest junk food?
I had the super nachos with chopped chicken, some chili beans (not like
the one I had a few games ago), a helmet sundae (small soft serve with
choc syrup served in a tiny helmet) and 1/2 a churro. Lots of water
too.
I feel icky today. I went home yesterday and had 2 pieces of toast, a
large bottle of water and some fruit to counteract what I ate.
you should come back to LA!! and they gave up the tickets? OMG I would
have so taken them over. I would kill to have access to those seats..
(and so would the pool of people)

Went to church, stopped in grocery store, then the husband and I went
to Nordstroms where I bought a Lancome cream shadow in a charcoal grey
color. Hope it doesn't crease. Also bought a summer type fragrance
called Aroma Cool. Very nice and light for this weather that registers
hot hot hot on the temperature scale. He went into a man's store
called At Ease and bought some shorts and a pair of shoes.
We had dinner at The Roaring Fork (Hi to Audrey!). It was delicious,
husband had scallops and I had the buttermilk chicken and mashed
potatoes along with tortilla soup. Went over my points for the day on
WW, but have been good the previous days and shall be today and
tomorrow also. I am happy because I lost 3.8 pounds my first week of
WW!!
Today, Monday, staying home and shall watch the Suns in the playoff
game against the Spurs. They need a win, but I fear it shall not be.

Congrats on the great loss! You can enjoy fine dining and lose weight
on WW. We enjoyed a wonderful barbecue at our friends' home yesterday.
She made yummy appetizers, one being pickled watermelon rind wrapped in
pre–cooked bacon with a pecan half and then broiled till the bacon was
crisp, homemade potato salad and baked beans, barbecued ribs and a TDF
Meyer lemon butttermilk pudding cake with assorted berries. We had lots
of wine so today I need to be very conscious of how many calories I
inhale :)

It's the largest size of the classic shoulder bag with the flap and doubleC
turn clasp, with the leather&gold chain, in black caviar leather. It is,
in a word, divine. It's funny because until yesterday, I'd never set foot
in either the NM Chanel boutique or the actual regular Chanel store in the
Galleria. But my 40th birthday is coming up in about a week and a half,
and I figured why not at least start looking. Then, when I saw it in the
window of the Chanel store, I knew it had to be mine. LOL
Barring any future lottery winnings, this will be my only Chanel bag, so
I'm glad I made it the one of my dreams.
Michele
PS: it also made it easy to return the MJ pocket satchel I'd bought for no
really good reason at the Off Fifth last weekend. :)

I am in awe. I will stop at a Chanel boutique next weekend just to see
if I can identify it as "the one." Happy early birthday. You did well.

I heard about the big score when we ran into Shalini later in the day.
I am SO bummed my DD got worn out from shopping and I had to rush her
home (this is where I disappeared to) and I missed the afternoon's
festivities but *especially* seeing you treat yourself to this.
Congrats Michele! You deserve it. That big 4–0 only happens once after
all.

Lots of fun on Memorial Day! The BF and I went down to a park by the
river and spent time with a GF of mine from school, and her roommate,
plus the very–happy–to–be–outside puppy. Let the dog get herself wet in
the water, waded around in the river a bit, knocked back a couple
Smirnoffs, played some volleyball and then barbecued some burgers and
steaks later on the patio. Mmm...yum. Also the first day to wear my
bikini in public, and I wasn't quite prepared, as my bikini line needs
trimming (going in for my first bikini wax on Friday – no more
shaving!), and my legs are still all deathly pale–white (spray–on tan
in another 3–4 weeks before I go camping – HATE having pale legs in the
summer!). It was a good day. Also saw the Star Wars movie on Sunday.

I figured that little Clare had had enough of shopping for one day, so I'm
glad you were able to take her home –– I'm only sorry we weren't able to
spend more time that afternoon, but I obviously understand why! :)

Thanks, Vicki! And major monster thanks to you for another great AFDC
weekend!
