What do you fashionable people order when you belly up to the bar

I rarely drink mixed drinks, but when I do, I have lately favored key
lime pie martinis. Yum! It is like dessert in a glass, and satisfies my
sweet tooth. I especially like the crushed graham crackers around the
rim (instead of salt).
Here is a recipe if you're interested:

The other night I tried a "Mad Morrocan" which was a light drink
consisting of prosecco in a champagne glass, strawberries, and just a
splash of strawberry vodka. If you don't like vodka, prosecco on its
own is a good alternative to champagne, and quite nice with *dried*
fruit. Dried strawberries, for example, will sink in the glass instead
of floating, and as you sip they let off a stronger flavor than fresh.
For fun go to Trader Joe's and seek out exotic dried fruits such as
mangos or pineapples.
I also like sangria, particularly in the summer, and that's easy enough
to make in large batches for a party. Much easier than running to the
blender constantly to make up another batch of something frozen.
Is there a theme for your party? What is the occasion? You could just
make up a batch of any runofthemill cocktail, but rename it with
something clever to commemorate the occasion. Seven year wedding
anniversary? Call it the "Seven Year Hangover" or "Seven Years of
Bliss" cocktail, depending on your perspective. Housewarming party?
Call it the "Jumbo Mortgage Blackout" or "In debt to the eyeballs"
cocktail (for the last one, put two green olives in the glass because
they look like eyeballs). You get the idea!
And also put some thought in how you accessorize the drink that often
is what makes a cocktail fun and special. For example, a nice touch is
to get those plastic balls that glow (similar to those necklaces that
you snap and it produces a neon glow for several hours), and put those
inside the cocktail so it glows like it's radioactive. This adds a
touch of fun to any sort of drink, especially for summer outdoor BBQs.
And it doesn't exclude those who are only drinking sparkling water from
the fun, either.
