Clarins UV Plus...it's a protective day screen with white tea extracts
that is supposed to protect against UV rays and pollution. The spf is
40 and it is oil free. Since I live in one of the most polluted places
in the US I picked up a sample at Macys yesterday. It is white and
creamy but sinks immediately into the skin. You apply it after
moisturizers. Today I'm using it instead of the usual PTR oil free
sunblock as that has an SPF of 30. I may buy this product.
Origins ginger with a twist...very nicely scented body lotion; samples
also available at Macys. I probably won't buy it just because I'm
holding out for the Laura Mercier clementine body butter and I have at
least six other lotions in current rotation.

I just bought Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub and Biore Warming Cream
Cleanser b/c I was having a terrible bout of post–adolescent acne....
anyway, these are *great*. They smell great (as I've posted elsewhere)
and work great – my skin is now acne free (2 day turnaround) and looks
smoother and more evenly toned. I use the scrub first, followed by the
cleanser, then moisturize....with terrific results.

How does the warming cleanser work? does it remove makeup––cream or
lotion base? Can you use it on your eyes? I love the idea of a warmed
cleanser, as I hate the feeling of cold lotion on my skin when i take
my makeup off at night!
Also, is it okay for sensitive skin, or just oily/acne?

after hearing so much about hermes rose ikebana (one of four hermes
fragrances called hermessences) i finally went to smell it. it's
fantastic. if you're into rose scents that are light and fresh, this
one's for you. it's a mix of rose, rhubarb and peony.
while i was there, i tried poivre samarcande, a more masculine scent
that's also great. it's pepper and oakmoss and woodsy. it's wondrous
alone but even better layered over rose ikebana.
and, of course, as i was waiting for the hermessences to come in (you
can only buy them in NY and SF hermes stores but the other stores will
order them for you), i had to buy un jardin sur le nil. it's
grapefruit at the top and then moves into a green mango, lotus, green
tea sort of thing. excellent for summer.
stella, if you're reading this, i have not given up on un zeste de
rose. in fact, these make me appreciate it all the more. it's like a
security blanket.
