OT: Renting A Room

<valmont32...@aol.com>
I am renting a "FURNISHED" room in Wilmington, NC for up to a year or so and
I was wondering what y'all think I will need to buy once I get down there
for my room. I've never had _any_ experience with this. I know I will need
linens, paper plates, groceries, but I need some tips with living with 4
other roomies and how to make my room look cute (it's 8 X 10). Where are
some good places to go in the Wilmington area for bargain finds and stuff to
make it home–y. I will be going to stay there for 2 weeks or so at a time
then flying back to Minnesota and/or Kentucky (I get around LOL!). What
type of lock do you suggest that I get for my room? I rented it
sight–unseen!! It's an adventure, right? :–) Oh, and way cheaper than a
hotel dump like the "6" I was staying at where there was a shooting and this
way I will never need to make a reservation. Any advice would be great as
this is my first time making a home–away–from–home. Think ala "dorm–ish"
type situation. TIA!!!!

I rent two furnished rooms to students so I can tell you what I have
in the rooms. Double bed, bureau, a bookcase, nightstand, desk and
chair. Lights on the nightstand and desk. That all fits in the 8x10
room . Hangers in the closet. They usually provide their own sheets
and towels, but if they are flying in I can provide them. Matching
curtains and bedcover will make the room look put together.
Do you have kitchen facilities? If you don't you might want to get a
small bar fridge for milk, a coffee maker, or a hot plate – but you'll
need to see what is allowed and what is already there.
Have fun.
