natural deodorants?

"ap" <cors...@ragingbull.com>
Hello,
Recently decided to try a natural deodorant from
a health store, specifically nature's gate organic
deodorant.
Didn't seem to neutralize all the odor as promised...Also
made sure to put it on after showering.
Can anyone share any experiences on one that has
no chemicals like alcohol and aluminum yet works
quite well to neutralize odors on summer days.
THANKS

I shall share with you my grand experience with this:

The Crystal Deodorant Stick neutralized the organisms that produce
foul odors on my body adequately even though the I put the deodorant
through the extreme test of wandering about West Texas in the Summer
on foot. It is a marvelous invention and I highly recommend it to all.

This is what I use as well. It works great, doesn't leave a residue on
your clothes and it's also terrific if you tend to have smelly feet.

Same here! Love the Crystal Stick. Works great for me, and is gentle,
almost everything else causes irritation. Crystal Stick is better than
anything else I've tried. Recently I wanted to try something new so I
got that new Adidas deo with cotton powder in it. Smelled nice, like
baby powder, seemed good, no irritation. About 15 minutes into my yoga
class that day, I knew it was not a keeper! Came home, tossed it, and
vowed not to stray again from the Crystal Stick.

Only 15 minutes?!?!?! OMG!!! Dang! That certainly would've ticked me off.
What a waste of $$$. I've purchased the Adidas for women three separate
times in that same exact scent and it's been fine for me, but everybody's
chemistry is different, I suppose. I like the Ban Beautifully Smooth
Invisible Solid with Soothing Botanicals the best right now, however.
Works great, it never bothers my skin, it smells great and it doesn't get
all over my clothes. I can't find it at every drug/grocery store, though,
and that kind of sucks, in which case I'll pick up some Secret or some Soft
'n Dri. Never used the Crystal Stick, but the Crystal stick in the roll on
version worked fine.
Mill Creek used to make an excellent clear natural stick without any
aluminum in it, but they discontinued it, unfortunately. There were two
scents, one of which was something like "Fresh Aloe" and that's the one I'd
try to get. I was about $2.50 more than a stick of Secret, but the stick
itself lasted more weeks, so the higher price balanced out in the end.

I tried one a couple summers ago and it didn't work for me. However,
Tom's of Maine is supposed to be a good brand of all–natural deodorant
with no aluminum or alcohol components. hth!

Some of the Tom's of Maine scents have lichen in them and I've heard that a
lot of people are allergic to lichen and break out from it.
Tom's has never worked particularly well for me and it's just ouchy as heck
and stings me like a bee, but their Honeysuckle Rose one (don't know if they
still make it????) certainly smells good, so if it works for anyone else,
that's a nice scent. I love Tom's of Maine soaps, wintergreen toothpaste
with fluoride and dental floss, though. Their mouthwash tastes ridiculous,
though, and is just very odd/peculiar tasting.

Now this does not keep you dry, right?
It's not supposed to, no – it's just work on the bacteria that cause
odor, at least that's my understanding. However, I when I use it I find
that I tend to stay pretty dry, unless I'm perspiring a lot all over
from working out or being in very hot temps or something.
And the thing really does last forever, I know I've had my current
stick nearly a year and it's not even close to gone.
