Current Bag Obsession!!

<valmont32...@aol.com>
I've been purchasing purses (3 in the last month!) and I have simply got to
stop. I ended up getting a silver mini–backpack at Wallyworld adorned with
silver hardware (very cute esp for the price!), a fake Kate Spade bag (black
with different colored circles and apple green metallic embellishments), and
now a fake Louis Vuitton (they said it was real, but I know it's fake for
the price!!) in the classic brown. I am really wanting some more LV stuff,
like a wallet for instance and a bag that would be cool to carry on the
airplane for magazines and such. I ordered a matching brown LV cell phone
cover for my Nokia 6015i and a little carrying case for it. If money were
no object, I'd buy a LV suitcase. ::sighs:: This LV bag is the best bag
I've ever had, even better than my Dooney or Coach bags (I have one of
each). Well, there is always Christmas....
Sorry, had to vent!! :–)

Well, as we all know, bags are always my obsession, so it was great to see
this thread started––thanks, Kristin! :)
My latest purchases:
*Large Bulga in Sage
*Balenciaga City Classique in White
*Gucci medium black leather horsebit hobo
*Gucci medium tobacco leather horsebit hobo
I'm especially thrilled with the Gucci bags as I have been on the hunt for
the leather horsebit hobos in a while. I was told by the Gucci SAs last
year that these had sold out and were no longer being made, but lo and
behold, when I walked by the Gucci boutique a few days back, there they were
sitting on the shelf! I had the hardest time deciding which color to
get...so of course I did the honorable AF thing and got both. :)

I know what you mean. I myself have a bag obsession I love bags. I have
so much designer bags it's not even funny, but my next bag that I do
want to get is this Dolce Gabbana bag it's baby blue/cranberry, it has
a gold chain shoulder strap and D&G on the front cover. The bag is hot.
It's at Neimans the price originally $355.00 but it's on sale for
$292.00 I have to get that bag and plus my birthday is coming up so the
bag is a must.

I have arrived relatively late to the Wonderful World of Bag Obsessives
(should we be called Bags Anonymous??) but I'm catching up, believe me!
I don't have a particular brand or type of bag that calls to me,
except that they're all relatively large and usually have lots of
pockets, both inside and out. But I've fallen for bags that don't fit
these criteria, too.
There's a store on the Upper West Side of NYC called Verve and I cannot
leave there without doing a fair amount of bag damage. The owner is an
Israeli man with an incredible eye, a great sense of style and color.
All of the bags there are way up on the Fabulosity Scale. Also, great
scarves, jewelry, watches, plus the downtown location also carries
shoes (good thing I'm not near that one very often).
And, I've scored some adorable and out–of–the–ordinary bags at TJX,
too, mainly by Esprit. Cute, colorful, great for summer. I'm dusting
off an orange one with dark gray trim that I got two years ago and will
probably wear in rotation with a white/yellow one and a pale blue
"jelly" bag that has an adorable floral patch on the front (that one
was made in France, can't recall the manufacturer).
Bags––yay!

OOHhh...I love Verve!! Definitely fabulous bags. I bought a blush
distressed leather bag at one of the downtown locations (the accessory one,
not the shoe one) and it is one of my top favorite bags (and I have plenty
of bags so that is really saying something)!
Another great store downtown store for bags and other accessories is Planet
Green Inc. (175 W. 4th Street in case anyone is interested). The bags tend
to be very "of the moment" styles and colors and run about $40 (leather).
It's a husband and wife from South Africa & they travel the world picking up
all kinds of different items. I think I remember the woman telling me she
buys the accessories and her husband buys the clothing. Last time I was in I
bought a necklace handmade in Brazil of all of these rough cut but polished
stones on a number of intertwined wire strands. Very hard to describe, but
very cool and different looking.
As for my most recent bag purchase – yesterday I bought a Cole Haan lunch
tote from the Megan collection in sand. It's a neutral color nylon bag with
white leather accents & a touch of lime green (can't really see the green in
the picture on the website). I don't love how open the top is, but it is a
good size for me to stuff my water bottle, magazine, umbrella and work
papers in, which hopefully cover up the rest – wallet, phone, etc.

Oh, I went into Verve once! The downtown one, and I totally regret not
getting an inexpensive, turquoise medium slouchy hobo with what looked
liked silver, flat, belly dancing coint on the front. I want to go
back for it. You're right, the bags are wonderful.
This year my bag lust is bag. My DH got me an Hermes small Trim bag in
brown and orange.
I bought a pale green Balenciaga (yeah, for that price I don't think
so) motorcycle bag – looks really good.
And I still want a Botkier – that's still a perfect size for me.
It used to be easy. You needed a black, brown and beige bag, and that
was it.
Coach was high end. These days if you don't have lots of colors and
styles, you feel like you're missing out.
At least I do :–)
