Jamie, I haven't smelled Vanilla Cupcake, but have Vanilla Ice Cream
and also am turned off by it. I don't think Philosophy has the right
notes yet for Vanilla. I don't like any of their chocolate based
scents either, but some people love them. My newest Philosophy body
washes are Mimosa and Grasshopper. I liked Mimosa when I sniffed it
from the bottle, but having used it now I don't care for it as much.
Not horrible, but I won't repurchase. The Grasshopper is very nice
though – a creme de menthe fragrance that is refreshing and will be
particularly so in summer.

Linda,
I think you're right about the vanilla notes. It smelled o.k. (tolerable)
when I smelled it right after opening, but like you, after I used it once,
it was obvious that it was not good.
I haven't bought any of their chocolate based body washes either because
they just didn't smell quite right when I sniffed them in Vegas last
November. I wasn't sure they'd hold up in likeability over the long run.
And I was tempted during the holidays. I was also tempted by Mimosa and
Grasshopper (which was on my fav list) but was not inclined to purchase
something without smelling it in person. I figured that mint is not
something that's hard to produce so it might be o.k. I'm glad you put your
two cents worth in to let me know!
Thanks,
Jamie

The Margarita and the Grasshopper both smell really nice and refreshing.
Doesn't last at all on your body, though. Not with me, at least. Cleanses
fine, but doesn't linger.
