School advice

"Jason Mailley" <jason_mail...@yahoo.ca>
Hi, I am currently looking into fashion schools in the US. The two so
far i have been in contact with and not in person yet are the Art
Institute of san fransisco and the International Academy of Design and
Technology Chicago. I do not know about either of these schools too
well. The Art Institute I have semi–looked into before but not at this
location I would love any imput regaurding these schools or any other
suggestions of ones to look into. THANKS!

Have you looked into Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) or Fashion
Institute of Technology (NYC, I think)? Those two are both highly
regarded. The Art Institue of Chicago also has a fashion
division(Cynthia Rowley went there). Also look into state universities.
Many of them have fashion and interior design hidden inside a "home
economics" department.
Some of these "fashion shools" are just for profit companies set up to
take your money. Be very careful. Find out how long the schools have
been in business, what types of internships they offer and who are
their sucessful alumni.
Good luck!

I think RISD is now part of Brown. COuld be wrong, but I am fairly
certain.

Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and Parsons School of Design,
which is a division of New School University. These are the best–known
fashion schools in the US, and both are located in NYC.
HTH and good luck.
