Apple Green Leather Handbags

"ellabella" <girl99nos...@earthlink.net>
Do you have one? Are you planning to buy one? Out and about today, I
saw so many women carrying them. They looked so fresh and springlike
while it was gray and cold outside. I am now trying to defeat the
lemming urge to add one to my wardrobe.

I have one from last year that I plan on using again this year. I got
lots of compliments on it before. It's a top–handle mock croc, sort
of Birkin–ish.

I bought one in "mimosa" from coach last year and LOVE it. I have
gotten *so* many compliments on it. I tend to wear very neutral colors
and the bag is a terrific way to add that splash of color. I have had
not one doubt about it.

I made what I now consider to be an inspired purchase back in October.
I bought a green Luella Giselle bag. It was dark enough to be cheery in
the winter and it now turns out that it will be perfect for spring.
What luck! I plan on having this one for years and I'm sure it will
stand up.
Green is good!

I'm carrying one though it's slightly off–apple (muted) but the reason I
love it is that it goes well with all the neutrals and especially navy and
denim. Mine is from Kenneth Cole and is the D–lite satchel in Lime (similar
to the Love It or Weave It style currently showing on his website, except
mine is all leather no suede). I'm sure it's not the latest thing, but it
works for me!

I bought a 9 West faux leather one last summer. It held up well, and I
will probably pull it out again this year if it's still in style. I
don't see it as a look that I will like for years and years, so I
wanted to go low end. Still, it is indeed fresh and spring–like.

One bona fide artist and master craftsman thought this
look worthy of translation into his medium:

to give credit where due; granted it's fiction but I
somehow don't much care for the premise of the story.

I'm on the Green wagon too. I picked this up on Sale at Nordstrom in
January, and it's been my main purse since then:

It's just the right size for me, and people keep asking what brand it is
– it's just the Nordstrom house brand, and I think they did a fine job :–).

I know I'm late replying to this thread but I'm just back from vacation and
catching up on AF – found the PERFECT green handbag at Nordstroms (Town
Centre, Boca Raton) but can't find it online. It's Sigrid Olsen (didn't
know they did handbags) – it's roomy enough for me and sort of Birkin–style.
It also came in turquoise and pink but I bought the green.

As am I! A canvas one, however; it will probably turn ou to be my
"everyday" bag this summer, though.

I opted for pink instead of apple green and am not going to add green.
But...I spotted something over the weekend that y'all with a Beauty
First near you should check out; handbags and wallets in a warm,
yellowish apple green, melon, or tan leather. I have to go from memory
and can't post a link since BF has no online shopping but I'll describe
them as best as I can. I can't recall the brand name but they were the
only handbags at my local store and they were on a table by the front
door. They had a satchel w/ double shoulder straps (as opposed to
handles, I think these would actually fit over the shoulder) and
outside pockets, a smallish hobo with zip pockets on either end, a
square shoulderbag with an outside zip pcoket and I think 2
compartments, and a checkbook size wallet. The bags have gold hardware
and I think the square shoulderbag and satchel had tassel zipper pulls.
The wallets ran around $26 and the bags were between $45–$50. I
thought the prices outstanding for the quality so y'all w/ a Beauty
First near you may want to see if your local store has them.
HTH someone.
