OT: sad news

just wanted to share that i put my ferret chauncey to sleep today. i feel
incredibly guilty, but know at 7 years old he had a good life.
feeling bleah and not very alt.fashionable:(

I am so so sorry to hear this. I understand exactly the guilt you're talking
about. It's such a profound and final decision. I'm sure you did the right
thing for your Chauncey though. Eventually you will start to feel better
even though it doesn't seem like it right now. Email me if you would like
the url for a good pet–loss forum.

Loosing a loved one isn't easy. We had to put one of our dogs asleep a
couple of years ago and it's heartbreaking. But you obviously shared 7
years of happiness and that's what having pets is all about.
Hats off to Chauncey and I'm sure he's living happy in Ferret Heaven :–)

That's such a horrible feeling isn't it. It's gut–wrenching but you had to
think of the best thing to do. I feel for you .. and wish you happy memories
and solace in knowing that your pet is no longer in pain
