Layering skin care products – what sequence?

Lee <not_my_real_a...@yahoo.com>
OK, so 2–3 times a week, I use Origins Modern Friction (they describe it
as "buffing paste" and "microdermabrasion"). The directions say to use a
toner afterwards to normalize the pH. I've also been using Eminence's
Couperose–C serum for broken capillaries (maybe rosacea... who knows),
as well as Estee Lauder's Idealist. Oh and a moisturizer, then Lorac's
color neutralizer for the redness and of course foundation.
I'm confused what to do first, especially on the days that I do the
exfoliation thing. I'm seeing a difference with the Couperose–C and want
to make sure it gets in to do its thing. Will the toner affect it? Does
the serum affect the Idealist? Are there any steps I should leave out on
the days I "buff"? Man, life used to be much simpler when my skin was
young, LOL.
Thanks

Hi Lee,
I just attended a skincare training two weeks ago and the trainer that
used to be in Estee Lauder said that basically there's a format to
follow for all skincare.
Cleanse–Tone–Peel–Moisturize–Treatments(anti–aging and such)
Peeling is new to me, I thought that was first but she instructed
everyone to do it third to prepare skin for advanced skincare products
and nightcreams for the best results.

Are you sure that you need to moisturise and use Idealist? Isn't this
a moisturiser too, or is your skin really dry? I have Idealist and
really like it but wouldn't use anything else with it, as my skin would
get really greasy very quickly.

It depends on the time of year(and month). In the winter, I often need
some moisturizer, but on any given day I might or night not use it. The
instructions for Idealist say to follow w/ moisturizer as desired (but
of course, they're trying to sell moisturizer too, LOL). I don't think
Idealist is technically a moisturizer; at least EL doesn't list it with
the moisturizers (it's in with Repair / Anti–aging).
