Dumb hair coloring question

"Cherie" <cedgewo...@copper.net>
This is a silly question but I just got my hair cut & highlighted this
morning & the stylist blow–dried my hair so its really "puffy". Is it ok for
me to go ahead and re–wash it right now? DH & I are going to a dinner party
tonight & I don't want my hair to be this "big". If I need to wait a day or
two to wash it any suggestions on getting it to lie a little flatter. :)
By the way my hair is short with stacked layers in the back so it sort of
flips out.

My stylist always says it's okay for me to get my hair wet and use
conditioner after coloring. (I can't stand the little bits of hair that
seem to cling to me after a haircut so I always head straight for the
shower.) I *do* notice that there are sometimes little droplets of
not–quite–clear water on the tub surface afterwards. And I would definitely
use a dark or crappy towel. I'm guessing that hot water is much worse than
cooler water because hot water opens up the hair shaft (or some such thing).

Thanks cofarb – that was the answer I was hoping for : ). I am hoping in the
shower (with cool water & conditioner only) as soon as DH gets home from
getting his hair cut. : )

you could try using something like Biosilk to help tame it (if
you like the overall style). if you hate the style, just wet it.
i wouldn't shampoo it – unless you have some shampoo for colour
treated hair.

"Mr. Lancaster" as you call him is soooo full
of donkey doo that it isn't funny. Seeking
his advice is akin to saying "lie to me".

Just wash it and put some anti friz serum in and blow dry.
