Angel Experiment Over!!!

"bumblebee4451" <bumblebee4...@yahoo.com>
I finally went to Nordies to try the scent Angel with the hopes that it
would be the "new" scent for me with staying power. Lo and behold the
sales person sprayed it on my wrists only and we agreed I should shop
around more in the store.....
After 15 minutes alas, I found out Angel is not for me. It has an
obnoxious undertone that is truly awful on me and I washed it off when
I got home (it still lingers). I also smelled Aquolina Sugar (not
worth it– I'll use Cotton candy fantasy). I smelled Brit and the new
Gucci (they did not send me).
I did score a bottle of the Style by RL that I gave my mom for Xmas ––
she did not like it, but I do. Well, I am back to Lolita Lempicka,
Michael, by M. Kors, 303 by J. Mc Clinton. I bought a small bottle of
Escada at TJ's for 10 bucks. I will see if I like that.
I also smelled Baby Grace (kind of good) and Pure Grace (too weak).
The quest goes on.....what's a girl to do???

I sympathize; it's so hard!
But I am puzzled that you like LL but not Angel? They smell *extremely*
similar to me, although I prefer Angel, although a little goes a LONG WAY I
find.....
As for the Pholospohy scents, they are all subtle, but Baby Grace lasts on
me maybe 6 hours or so but Pure Grace (and Amazing Grace) does not last 10
seconds....I am using them as hair humidifiers and will not be repurchasing.

I have similar taste – and I have found that I love Herve Leger and also
something called L'Interdit by Guerlain, I think.
they're both sweet, but not as heavy as Angel – nor as bold as Michael
cary.

I, too, can wear LL more than Angel. I guess to some people or maybe, ON
some people, there is just enough difference to matter!

To my nose, Prada smells exactly like a cross between CK Obsession and
RL Lauren from the 80s! It reminds me of my college dorm (speaking of
olfactory memories as mentioned in another thread).

It's the patchouli! I love this stuff, I smell Angel and a little Obsession, but
this has no staying power on me. Perhaps I can try the body lotion,
if one exists, because I really like it, but not if I can't smell it ten minutes
after it goes on!

I've been a Lolita Lempicka devotee since it was launched (and I also
now love LL au Masculin, which is similar but different). I, too,
cannot stand Angel and I think the major difference between LL and
Angel is the note of licorice (anise), which cuts through the sweetness
and adds a spicy, darker note.
That's my humble opinion, anyway.

I would call them both rather heavy scents and if someone likes Angel,
they usually like Lolita Lempicka but they don't smell similar to me at
all.

Do you mean licorice notes are in Angel? Angel grew on me but I don't wear
it everyday. To me, it is dark and almost cloyingly sweet like cotton candy,
but there are notes of citrus and chocolate and manyly armpits in there
somewhere. Sounds weird but there's an animale connection with nose–to–skin
response for many people.

AND both need to be applied with a very light hand, Angel especially!
Also, to me, Pink Sugar has that Angel/LL element, more so of the
Angel.
