magic scarf

twenty2...@aol.com (Twenty2222)
have you seen these? I got one for Christmas and can't figure out what's so
magical about it. Will I look like a wanna–beeeee or a chic chick if I wear it
in public?

One of the women in my office got one of these and was showing it to
me.
The magic part was that although it just looks like a fuzzy scarf, it
is
actually knit as a tube. When she stuck her hand into the opening of
the
tube, it immediately stretched open into a large loose tube big enough
to pull over your head to form a hood with a loose cowl–neck at the
bottom. Does that make sense? Its hard to describe but it really did
seem a little like a magic trick!

Depends on where you are. Here they are pretty much over. Other parts of the
country probably not.

And of course in little third world countries in the Southern
Hemisphere where winter comes six months later anyway. I'd love to
know what they are, how they work etc.

Ah, the infamous magic scarf/moa boa. At the boutique i work at these are
one of our best sellers around Christmas.
It's a knit scarf, in a fuzzy, colorful yarn. But it's not really a scarf as
much as a tube. The tube can expand so you can stretch it and wear it over
your head like a cowl or a hood, and if you're a little more daring, I've
seen somebody wear on as a dress.
They're really soft, and a cheap, fun way to add something different to the
same black peacoat you wear all winter.
Sorry to sound like an ad, just it's finally a topic I'm well versed on.

I know this 'Dazzle–Lash' (or whatever others call it) style is getting
almost commonplace, I simply can't stand them...
But the scarf is kinda cool ;–)

Sounds great. I'll be looking for ways to deal with a greatly
reduced winter wardrobe here as I am in the process of losing weight
and by winter I'll have no clothes left. Only buying two skirts and
a few long sleeve t–shirts. Everything else will have to make do as
I'm not spending a lot of money on clothes I won't wear again.
Winter is still four months and hopefully twenty kilograms away.

Best of luck on your diet. I went to that magicscarf website and looked at my
own "magic scarf" and I think mine is a knock off? because when I stretch it or
play with it as a hood etc, it likes to shrink back to it's original shape.
Mine isn't a tube as far as I can tell, just a narrow rectangle object. Thanks
for the info.
