I tried this sample last night that came with my Sephora order yesterday (a
Philosophy Birthday Girl kit for my sis' 35th and Dr. Brandt's
Microdermabrasion in a Jar for me). I tried it briefly before getting ready
for bed. It has small glitter in it and I could feel it 'bond' to my lips
and dry. It felt pretty good, not unusual. Getting ready for bed, it was
late and I didn't wash my face (no makeup on anyway), only splashed and
firmly wiped the gunk from my lips a couple of times. I was pretty sure I
got most of it off except there was some slight glitter left. I applied my
lip balm over it as I've just recovered (within the last week) of the worst
bout of chapped lips I've probably ever had. Upon waking this morning, my
lips look and feel absolutely burned. Not on fire but red (like when they
were extremely chapped) and uncomfortable and tingly feeling. Any thoughts?
My brain has been working overtime trying to figure it out. I'm not usually
sensitive to things but I know lips are different. Could it have been the
wiping action with the glitter left my lips raw? Or is it just a reaction?
I thought maybe this product increased blood flow to the lips but couldn't
find any indication on the UD website.
Any thoughts?
