The much ballyhooed trip to the BIG mall happened today. We were
supposed
to wait until tomorrow but DH announced late last night that he'd
probably
only be working from 69AM. That allowed us to go today (in the
rain) to
try to avoid the raging crowds that are still plaguing the new mall.
I
called BF who is off this week as she works for the school board and
she was
up to go early!
Sephora was our main stop; she's mostly interested in the mineral
makeups
and, me, I'm interested in just about everything!
Here's the haul
Benefit Bathina Body So Fine I have just been putting off getting
this
forever and could no longer resist today! This feels like silk. I'm
not
sure if it's powder or cream, powder that feels like cream, or cream
that
turns to powder, but I can see myself using this up quickly. It says
"Velvet Body Balm".
Sephora Triple Layer Cake Hair & Body Wash I've thought about this
since
Heather posted about it before the holidays.
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune My goodness! I LOVE this!!! I
think
this will be my summer signature fragrance!!
CSP Vanille Banane Interspersed with this, of course! But
seriously, I
think I'll start wearing this immediately since spring is definitely
here.
It was 84 degrees yesterday. I don't think I'll be able to wear this
when
it's too hot outside.
Nars Rapture Palette 4 eyeshadows, 4 lipsticks, and 2 blushes
LipFusion I didn't realize when I bought this (yes, it says on the
package)
that it couldn't be applied over other lip products. I even said to
the SA
that I wanted this since it was clear and could be used with my other
products. She didn't say a word. Must be still learning all of the
products.
Bourjois Pump up the Volume Waterproof mascara in Violet I never
wear
waterproof mascara because of removal issues but couldn't resist this
color
on my green eyes. I can't wait to try it!
Vincent Longo Water Canvas CremetoPowder Foundation SA matched
me to
Creme Beige. This feels like silk.
One more comment DIOR SWEET SUN nonalcohol fragrance for summer
OMG!!
This stuff smells like heaven to me!!! I wanted it so badly but had
already
spent a pretty dime on everything else and just couldn't quite put
myself
over the edge. But I'll have to have it!! The only bad thing, as
the SA
explained to me, is that the fragrance probably won't be as
longlasting as
some because of the lack of alcohol. The SA that checked me out
asked me if
I wanted a sample and I just applied it to my wrist and I'm
transported yet
again!!! It's lovely!! The one that I looked at was in a fairly
large
spray bottle for $40 but the tester that she gave to me looks like a
solid
gel thing.
Just one more comment I spent over $320 and realized after I got
home that
I got zero! testers! Except for the one she gave me when she heard
me
comment that I loved the Dior but just couldn't do it. I think they
owe me!
Jamie
gotta pipe in on thatyou DO seem to have to be pretty aggressive to
get Sephora to sample you. AND it's supposed to be part of their
corporate philosphy. At mine here in Dallas Galleria they're just so
bloody obsessed with trying to ring up as many people as possiblegotta
make that LVMHY stock price up for the shareholders.
One time I was very hacked off with them and they gave me some decent
samples but geez they have them all in the drawers and can take a
little Sephora jar and "make" you one like with a cream, etc.
p.s. plus at other retailers like I buy a couple of Shisedo bottles of
skincare regularly (whatever store) and ask for samplesthey give me a
dirty look like I'm a bitch but oh well too bad.
Good luck to you.
