What I bought today

KMS <badgerda...@puttyhead.combustible>
At the grocery store, N.Y.C. Pencil & Pout in Camisole Duet and
Mauve–something Duet (printing over shade name). These are cleverly
packaged lip pencils and coordinating glosses. The mauve one is gorgeous
and the gloss is a dead ringer for my beloved Lorac Lip Polish in LKB2
(from the Licked Kissed Bitten set).

From Clinique:
Clairifying Powder Makeup in Neutral
I've been using Studiofix for a few yrs now, but i don't think it's
all it's cracked up to be. Finally got the courage to try something
new. Hope this is better at control shine.
"Jamie" <zuschlag–sequ...@tds.net>
Yesterday at Walgreen's –
L'Oreal ColourJuice Lip Gloss in Passion Fruit Squeeze – my 2nd one. I'm
worried they'll stop making this color!
Maybelline Hi–Shine Lip Polish in Nude Flash – I don't really like this;
it's slightly metallic looking.
Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation in Classic Ivory – On sale for
$4.99 and I had a coupon for $2 off that I saved from last year
L'Oreal Glam Shine Dazzling Plumping Lipcolor – Dazzling is the key word.
Almost too sparkly for me.
1 Pack of green Easter grass
4 variously colored Easter egg candles with yolk – I can't wait to see how
these burn!
I'm going to nestle the eggs into the grass and put them on a server in the
middle of my table. (I won't be burning the eggs while they're on the
grass.)
2 containers of hand sanitizer
Their SH Diamond lip/nail treatment display was completely depleted.
A Women's Weekly and Star magazines for my mom (yeah, for mom, that's
right!).

The much ballyhooed trip to the BIG mall happened today. We were supposed
to wait until tomorrow but DH announced late last night that he'd probably
only be working from 6–9AM. That allowed us to go today (in the rain) to
try to avoid the raging crowds that are still plaguing the new mall. I
called BF who is off this week as she works for the school board and she was
up to go early!
Sephora was our main stop; she's mostly interested in the mineral makeups
and, me, I'm interested in just about everything!
Here's the haul –
Benefit Bathina Body So Fine – I have just been putting off getting this
forever and could no longer resist today! This feels like silk. I'm not
sure if it's powder or cream, powder that feels like cream, or cream that
turns to powder, but I can see myself using this up quickly. It says
"Velvet Body Balm".
Sephora Triple Layer Cake Hair & Body Wash – I've thought about this since
Heather posted about it before the holidays.
Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune – My goodness! I LOVE this!!! I think
this will be my summer signature fragrance!!
CSP Vanille Banane – Interspersed with this, of course! But seriously, I
think I'll start wearing this immediately since spring is definitely here.
It was 84 degrees yesterday. I don't think I'll be able to wear this when
it's too hot outside.
Nars Rapture Palette – 4 eyeshadows, 4 lipsticks, and 2 blushes
LipFusion– I didn't realize when I bought this (yes, it says on the package)
that it couldn't be applied over other lip products. I even said to the SA
that I wanted this since it was clear and could be used with my other
products. She didn't say a word. Must be still learning all of the
products.
Bourjois Pump up the Volume Waterproof mascara in Violet – I never wear
waterproof mascara because of removal issues but couldn't resist this color
on my green eyes. I can't wait to try it!
Vincent Longo Water Canvas Creme–to–Powder Foundation – SA matched me to
Creme Beige. This feels like silk.
One more comment – DIOR SWEET SUN non–alcohol fragrance for summer OMG!!
This stuff smells like heaven to me!!! I wanted it so badly but had already
spent a pretty dime on everything else and just couldn't quite put myself
over the edge. But I'll have to have it!! The only bad thing, as the SA
explained to me, is that the fragrance probably won't be as long–lasting as
some because of the lack of alcohol. The SA that checked me out asked me if
I wanted a sample and I just applied it to my wrist and I'm transported yet
again!!! It's lovely!! The one that I looked at was in a fairly large
spray bottle for $40 but the tester that she gave to me looks like a solid
gel thing.
Just one more comment – I spent over $320 and realized after I got home that
I got zero! testers! Except for the one she gave me when she heard me
comment that I loved the Dior but just couldn't do it. I think they owe me!

gotta pipe in on that–you DO seem to have to be pretty aggressive to
get Sephora to sample you. AND it's supposed to be part of their
corporate philosphy. At mine here in Dallas Galleria they're just so
bloody obsessed with trying to ring up as many people as possible–gotta
make that LVMHY stock price up for the shareholders.
One time I was very hacked off with them and they gave me some decent
samples– but geez they have them all in the drawers and can take a
little Sephora jar and "make" you one like with a cream, etc.
p.s. plus at other retailers like I buy a couple of Shisedo bottles of
skincare regularly (whatever store) and ask for samples–they give me a
dirty look like I'm a bitch but oh well too bad.
Good luck to you.

DD and I went to Target this morning. I bought the Cherokee cardigan
with 3/4 sleeves in white and bought her the yellow one. I also bought
a pair of IM slacks, thin stripes and buckles on the side of the
waist...very cute and a great fit for $24.99.

Over the weekend:
My #1 daughter and I went to the spring makeup trend show at Nordys on Saturday.
This was to be the first time that she'd get her makeup *done* at a counter.
The presentation was ok – she won a DDF gycolic gel for being peppy – and she
loved the bag everyone got.
On to Stila – a great age–appropriate makeup job, no foundation or powder.
We bought – concealer, 2 pot shadows, gloss. Spent enough that she got the gift
of tinted moisturizer and all–over shimmer. She was most definitely a happy
camper.
I bought several shadows at Laura Mercier, as well as a primer and a cream blush
in Bloom.
Long–sleeved very lightweight cotton sweater in yellow and a yellow lace–trimmed
cami (also for #1)
Tried to buy Jag jeans, but they've started locking the dressing rooms and the
SA was too busy gabbing to notice me til I dumped said jeans on the counter and
walked out.

In the last week or so – more spring shopping at various shops:
* Levi's low rise, straight leg (look like a boot leg to me, but what
do I know?) dirty wash jeans
* Baby Phat boot cut jeans with a pink/green plaid sash about which my
mind is not yet made up. The jeans totally rock, are probably too young
for me, and are definitely the most expensive jeans I've ever bought. I
love them.
* Nine West Turquoise blue ribbed tank top with small sequin & lace
trim at neckline. I'll wear this with my white EB linen jeans jacket.
* Columbia Walkers pants in Oatmeal
* Columbia Arch Cape pants in dark green
So – Pants with sash belt – fashionably hip or fashion victim? Discuss.

At Bloomingdale's – AG Angel jeans – Was it Stevie who raved about
these? If so, she was right. The fit is excellent, and I love the
wash.
At Ann Taylor Loft – a black and white twinset – The sweater tank is
black with white straps, and the cardigan is black with 3/4 sleeves and
two white stripes that extend to tie in the front (hard to describe).
Aerosoles – A pair of black leather slides with a wedge heel ("Plank
