Got the new setting for my engagement ring :)

"Linda in tampa/st. pete" <laph...@yahoo.com>
Hi AF
I got it! And it's everything I could have ever wished for. Just
beautiful. I was completely torn between a wide plain white gold
4–prong setting and a thinner one with small diamonds on each side
(also 4 prong). It was a close victory, but the diamonds won out. It
has 5 small diamonds on either side. Because it's a thinner band, the
size I take is ridiculously small (under a 5, which for a tall girl
like me is weird), and therefore the diamonds reach more than half way
around so you'd sorta think they go all the way around. I'm glad they
don't though for sizing issues.
Anyway, I made a yahoo album with pictures on it along with a picture
of me and Chris from New Years Eve (back in Dec. I posted about the fun
outfit I was putting together for a "black and white" ball – check out
the shoes!!!!), and also of a wedding dress I tried on and really like.
I'm not even close to choosing a dress yet as we don't even have our
venue picked. Hell, we haven't even been to visit any yet... But
being the AF'er that I am I couldn't wait to start looking at the
gorgeous dresses!
I have no idea if this will work but if you are really interested you
can always email me and I can send you the link. But maybe this will
work...

The link works.
I love the ring, the setting is gorgeous and I like how the band is
raised up a bit to show off the small diamonds instead of just a flat
band surrounding the large diamond. Great choice.
And what a striking couple you are!
Once again, best wishes to you both and have fun planning the wedding.

The link worked and that ring is spectacular and so is the wedding dress
you're looking at!
Looking forward to more as things progress,

Linda,
The ring is beautiful and so are you! I think you made a superb choice.
Looking at the ring from the top, you'd never guess it's built up like it is
in the center. I think that really gives it added depth. It is wonderful.
Enjoy it for a long time!

omgomgomg.. it's beautiful! love the ring. Love that ring! It's fabulous! I
think the diamonds giong round the band are really cool. very sleek &
sophisticated
and you look phenomenal! You can see you are so very very happy! Love the
NY's eve dress. And that wedding dress will be stunning on you!
;–)
congrats.. and hugs

Thanks everyone, REALLY! I am excited to be able to share this stuff
with my cyber friends :)
I truly love the ring too, I can barely take my eyes off it and the
part that i love the most is how excited he was to give it to me. You
just can't beat that.
I had SO MUCH FUN in that New Year's eve outfit. I wish I could dress
like that every day! I'd love to reprise the shoes on the wedding day
but I hate how tall they make me compared to Chris – I don't know if I
want to be that much taller than him in our pictures.
I'll post more dresses as I come closer to making a decision. Maybe
I'll take votes on which one to choose!! Right now there is this
Monique Lhuillier dress that is TO DIE FOR but I can't even imagine how
much it must cost. The dress that i posted is affordable ($1250
retail), so at least I know that I am able to like something within
budgetary reason.
Thanks again, everyone, I really feel the sincere well wishes from you
all and I send my own right back to ya!

beautiful setting, linda! the two of you look so happy together and i
can't wait to hear more details as you progress with the gown shopping.
the one you posted is gorgeous, btw. a work pal is getting married, and
fell in love with the first gown she tried on. she felt like she
*should* keep looking, but has ended up with the first one she saw!
anyway, big congrats and hugs to you!

Thanks, Michele! I'm actually going to be in NYC twice over the next
few months and I'm DYING to go to some of the shops that would carry
high end designers..."just to look"...
I did really like (love?) that dress and am definitely keeping it in
mind. However until I know where we're going to have the wedding I'm
not going to commit to anything. Unless I find THE ONE.
My best friend from HS is getting married in May and she bought a dress
from her first trying on session.
Anyway, my first NYC trip is going to be too hectic, the 2nd is going
to be for above friends bachelorette party. I'll let you know when it
is and maybe we can meet up!

Your setting is beautiful! I can certainly understand why you would want
to look at it all of the time. Thanks so much for sharing your photos.
You look absolutely radiant.
