Good buy on long down coat at Loehmann's

"cannir" <can...@gmail.com>
We've been having a cold snap, so I decided to buy a skirt–length down
coat IF I could find one I liked for under $100. I didn't have much
luck at a big local mall, even though I tried 4 different dept. stores
and several specialty shops. Burlington Coat Factory had several but
no markdowns yet, everything cost at least $140. Then on a whim I
walked into Loehmann's, which is fairly new to the area. Actually,
there used to be one near me but it went out of business some years
back; I guess they've been revived. Jackpot! Not only were there
quite a few to choose from, but all "designer" coats were marked down
40% + another 10%. I found a nice dark brown coat by Gallery with a
fox–trimmed hood and a non–shiny finish, for a final cost of about $86.
It didn't have as high–quality a down stuffing as some of the others
in the same price range, but I liked the style much better. It's also
made of a matte fabric rather than the shiny nylon that goes
"whish–whish" with every movement.
I'll be sure to check out Loemann's more often. I was also pleased to
note that the store no longer has a no–return policy, as they did years
ago.
