How to get True Match Off My Foundation Brush?

"Miss Livvy" <Xeveryidiwantistak...@yahoo.com>
Is anyone using True Match with a foundation brush? Are you finding it hard
to clean off? I am having a bear of a time. I'm using Johnson's baby shampoo
which works fine for my other foundations. There's something waterproof–ish
in True Match and I don't know how to dissolve it. Maybe turpentine?? LOL

I don't use True Match and I don't know what brand of brush you're using (I
own and religiously trust the Chanel one), but I've found that when some
liquid foundations don't come off the brush with baby shampoo, that using
Dove bar soap or a bar of Goat's Milk soap (like Canus Goat's Milk Soap or
the slightly more expensive Indigo Wild Zum Bar) will get it off better. The
olive oil that's in ingredients of the Kiss My Olive & Aloe Liquid pump
moisturizing soap works good for this, too.
It breaks down the ingredients in the foundation and anything that was
trapped deep in the bristles comes right off the brush.
I don't use True Match, however, but I've used Revlon Colorstay on a brush
and it's waterproof and so I know what you're talking about.I have found,
however, that Paul Mitchell Baby Don't Cry Baby Shampoo works *FAR* better
for cleaning my foundation brushes than Johnson & Johnson's or Baby Magic,
however. It's a little bit thicker and creamier, so that's why. The J&J is
pretty watered down, as are many others.

I have the Chanel brush too. I will try some of your suggestions. Thanks.
BTW, I tried using some Phisoderm ... big mistake! It seemed to coagulate
the foundation. YUCK!

Gotta agree––and JN, if you're the first one who recommended Baby Don't
Cry, thank you, thank you, thank you! I used this for the first time
to clean Maybelline Matte Mousse off my foundation brush and it worked
so much better than J&J or Aveeno baby shampoos.

You're welcome and yeah, I think I was probably the first one to suggest it.
I don't recall anyone before me saying anything about it.

Ewww..... Yeah, I've found that some things don't work well for washing my
foundation brush. One morning I was in a real hurry and I just grabbed some
Aveda facial cleanser and it worked horribly. It wasn't the right
consistency and it made the foundation bead up and it was worse than when I
started.

Where can you buy that at? I keep hearing about it but I can never find it

I have had good luck removing concealer and foundation from my brushes with
MAC's brush cleaner.

This is what I use as well for getting *any* hard to remove makekup off
my brushes. You can get DHC stuff at http://www.dhccare.com

I've also had success with Cetaphil for Normal to Oily skin. I squirt a bit
into my hand, wet the brush thoroughly, then rub the brish around the cleanser
in a swirling motion. It works well and is very quick.
