POLL: Nail Polish Remover!

valmont32...@aol.com (Valmont32677)
Just wondering what everyone here is using for nailpolish remover...
How often do you buy new bottles of np remover? Do you find it's an item that
you use up quickly? What about acetone vs. non–acetone?
I barely ever buy np remover, a big bottle lasts me quite awhile. I find that
the jars with the sponge in them dry up eventually, so I replace those more
often that I buy actual bottles of remover. Right now, I'm finding Cutex Quick
& Gentle Acetone Instant Nail Polish Remover in the jar to be pretty good. For
my toes, I use cotton squares or rounds with Adios Nail Polish Remover
(non–acetone). The Adios stuff was just a big bottle I got for a good price
from Trade Secret. Nothing too special about this stuff, but the Cutex is
nice. It doesn't really reek/stink like most do. FWIW I have natural nails.
So, jury's out, what's the verdict for you on nail polish remover? :–)

I tried non–acetone once, but it took so much elbow grease to remove the
polish, I tossed it in the trash. I normally get Cutex, or whatever is on
sale. I'm not real picky. My step–grandfather used to make his wife use pure
acetone he got from work because he was too cheap to pay for the stuff we
buy.

Same with me. I sometimes buy the store brand, such as Walgreens, also.

Honestly, I find the no–name regular acetone nail polish the same as a
brand name. I go through it pretty quick but I do my nails at least
weekly.
Paul and Joe make a nail polish remover that comes in the prettiest
bottle. I bought one and I refill it with whatever polish is on sale.
It's so cute to use instead of a plain old bottle. I'm a sucker for
packaging.

I always use OPI's acetone–free polish remover now, which I buy from QVC in
a large bottle (480ml). I decant it into a smaller–sized bottle as needed. I
find it lasts me for months, and I change my nail polish around three times
a week.

I use either Sally Hansen or Cutex, whichever is on sale. Do not ever
buy Walgreens house brand; it's useless.

I like Orly's when I can find it. OPI's is easier to find and works
just as well but is a lot more expensive. If I can't find either, I use
Cutex or Sally Hansen but I think the salon brands work much better
(i.e. faster, especially with metallic or glittery polish).
I use up a bottle about every 3 or 4 months, I would estimate... maybe
not quite that often. Always use the ones with acetone, the non–acetone
ones work soooo slowly I get impatient!
