Woodsy/Spicy Colognes for Young Men?

"Google Beta User" <majii...@cs.com>
Throw them at me. Thanks for all your suggestions last time for the
strawberry/cherry/vanilla scent, I went with Diesel and she liked it.
And I liked my 'payment' that I got in return:) I'll go back and see
who recommended that one.
Anyway, let's do this again. This time I'll hook myself up. What is a
good scent for a young 23 year old professional such as myself? It is
an everyday scent, for office wear and just for wearing when I go out.
As it is winter, I do not want something too citrusy. Also, I dislike
musk and Vanilla scents so those are out. And I do not want to smell
like a grandfather. I wouldn't mind a spicy (tea, ginger, etc) or
woodsy (cedarwood for example) actually.
Just FYI, Marc Jacobs is what I wear in the evening when I go out, but
I find it to overpowering for daytime/office use.

My husband wears Zegna.
This is a short description of it:
Ermenegildo Zegna Essenza di Zegna
"This classic, modern scent is a quintessentially Italian blend of
bergamot, fresh leaves, smooth spices, and masculine woody notes."

you might want to try john varvatos.... or perhaps some of the keiko mecheri
fragrances. (www.luckyscents.com)
also another GREAT fragrance that my husband loves to wear and I love it on
him is Frank Los Angeles. (found on sephora.com) created by a great new
designer and the fragrance is very cool––light, a bit green, some hint of
mint.. and still some spice but not overwhelming. very clean

Canoe by Dana is a preppy standby since about 1950, and I have really liked
Pino Sylvestre––well worth looking for. You might try one of the Vetivers.
I am rather fond of the ones available from Hove and Bourbon French in
NewOrleans (by mail order––both have websites).

I've always loved the scent of plain sandalwood. Crabtree and Evelyn makes a
fantastic sandalwood and its light, unobtrusive, but makes me drool. ;)
