Artec rave

"doomella" <doome...@hotmail.com>
I don't usually do this kind of thing, but I just have to say that Artec's
color–depositing shampoo line is nothing short of a miracle. I never had
much faith in color–enhancing shampoos or conditioners but this one is
absolutely unvelievable. I think Artec's one of the best overall lines out
there anyway –– their Kiwi Coloreflector serum stuff is great too (and I get
more compliments on it than on any "scent" I've ever worn).
And also a belated thanks to Shellah (Sheelah? Sheellah.... I lost your
post!) for the UnRed suggestion.

I second this. My highlights look brand new when I use this and the
shampoo and conditioner work really well with my hair type. Very
reasonable prices too.

the ARTEC red color depositing shampoos are awesome!! I have to second this
rec. When I used to color my hair (b4 it got all cut off), i always used the
red ones to keep the color from fading between the actual colorings. Kiwi is
really good shampoo too, but I can't really justify the cost of high end
haircare these days, being a the broke–azz college student that I am.

Where can I find this shampoo; it sounds good.

I'm tempted to try the Walnut. I color/lift my hair to a medium golden
brown. Does anyone know if this shampoo will change the color I'm currently
using very much?
TIA

Artec's smoothing serum works fabulously, too. I love it.

I get lowlights mainly to cover the gray – it's probably about 40–50%
of my natural hair at this point. I love Artec Kiwi and have used it
for years, even before I colored – what will the color enhancing
shampoos do to the part of my hair that is already lowlighted? Is it
mainly for the colored part of the hair or the natural part of the
hair? I'd like to brighten the natural part of my hair a bit, without
actually coloring it.
Thanks,
petunia

If you've never used it before, definitely ask your colorist for a
recommendation (or, at the very least, call Artec's 800 number) for a
recommendation. Artec itself is pretty adamant about that (which is why they
sell through salons––or try to!). Artec has a really high pigment load and
using the wrong color could have weird results, especially if you have a
high percentage of gray, I'd imagine, since the color deposited is much more
obvious on lighter hair. Results also don't wash out as quickly on lighter
hair. I've heard of people getting a purplish or pink cast to their hair
after using the wrong shade. Also thought I'd add that Artec directs users
to alternate their color–depositing products with non–coloring shampoo (of
course they recommend Artec Kiwi Coloreflector Shampoo) to avoid too much
color build–up.
