Short of getting the elcheapo press on nails at Walgreens, is there a
fake
nail you can wear for a day or two, or for a special occasion when you
really want to go ultra glam, but want to go back to your everyday nails
(I
keep mine pretty short) the next day?
I've never tried any presson nail but I totally concur with what Bumblebee
says. I've had acrylic nails in the past a couple of times (namely right
after both children were born) and it does take 6 full months to grow out
all of the damaged nail. The nail is even more damaged if you have them
removed by soaking them and then prying them off as the nail technician did
with mine. The real kicker is that I had the nails for a shorter period of
time than it took to grow out the damage from them. At this point, I
believe that if I had a special occasion and I wasn't up to doing my own
nails, that are now kept short out of necessity, I would book an appt. for a
manicure to whip my own nails into shape. But then short nails don't bother
me and I believe they can look just as nice as acrylics; even nicer because
they're natural.
