preventing bumps after waxing?

jme...@msg.ucsf.edu
what can be done to prevent bumps after getting waxed? it's not
exactly acne, but it kinda looks like it. maybe some kind of
antiseptic would work, but most of those dry the skin i think.

TendSkin is the product most waxers recommend.

I make a solution of water, aloe gel and crushed aspirin and apply it
immediately after waxing. If the area looks like it's going to bruise, I apply
a plastic bag filled with ice cubes.

I find Tend Skin sooooooo caustic.
So I use a masque the night of getting waxed. I change my masques but they
usually have clay or seaweed
as the base. Then 2 days after waxing I use the
masque again and maybe a topcial with salicylic acid.

Glycolic acid, like MD Forte hand and body cream. It's strong stuff. Be
careful to avoid sensitive spots. Experiment using sparing amounts. It will
sting, but it works. Nothing works better.

You absolutely do not want to put glycolic acid on skin that's just been waxed.
Stick with TendSkin.

I use it all the time, and after shaving too. Nothing works better. Just be
careful and go easy.
