I will keep you posted
Thanks. I ended up getting a pair to try out. There's no trainer around
here so I just watched the video and read the pamphlets, which seemed to
be enough.
At first I wasn't too impressed I thought they were helpful in getting
the lower back to release and strengthening the abs (kind of like pilates
in a shoe), but otherwise I didn't notice much difference, even wearing
them full time. But, then I decided to do some of the rolltrotting on the
treadmill. Whoa. I didn't think it was much of a workout at the time, but
2 days later I had some serious DOMS, so they obviously worked muscles I
wasn't using before. I'm working on increasing my time rolltrotting with
them until I can do a full hour.
In the scheme of things I'm not terribly fit, but I do the elliptical for
an hour at least 5 days a week at a rate of 6.5 mph not exactly racing
along, but it does keep my heart beat in the target zone. And I don't have
a car, so I probably get more incidental exercise than most Americans.
I haven't noticed any significant shrinkage in my legs, but of course I
don't believe in spot reduction anyway. It'll be interesting in a month or
so to see whether wearing them more or less full time I've actually burned
up any additional calories.
The only real problem I have with them is that the soles can be slippery.
I no longer wear them for my commute on wet days because I felt like I was
sliding on glass on some of the surfaces in the metro.
Please do let me know your results.
Thanks,
Martha
