nails peeling

"Mary" <absolutelym...@hotmail.calm>
Okay, I have been using Nail Magic and have tried most of the other
hardeners, etc. My nails just seem to be getting worse. I use oil on them
at night and during the day but no improvement. I also take vitamins and
flaxseed oil.
They keep on peeling. Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks
Mary

i too have been having this problem; first i tried nail tek I
(maintenance) –– i didn't realize it was for nails in already good
condition; it seemed to be improving my nails so i ordered the nail tek
hydration therapy II for soft peeling nails. i've only been using it for a
week, but ... it's really shiny and hard, and stays on well. i have a few
spots on several nails where the layers have peeled, and i'm waiting for my
nails to grow long enough so i can file those areas off. will keep you
posted.

Hmmm, never heard of that combo. At one time my Derm said to take Biotin
which did not help and I have heard of MSM. May try it but am now doing
what the others said to do and that is stop the hardeners. I am also doing
the gloves at night and they already look a little better.
thanks
Mary

Not to be confused with the pool chemical brand of the same name,
although your pool dealer may say HTH when they sell you HTH.

Thanks Charlie for clarifying that. I just picked up all three products for
my nails. I have a feeling this combo is going to work!

My nails always get worse when I use the products that are supposed to make
them better. Any of the products that are polish–like (like Nail Tek and
Nail Envy) seem to work or a week or so; then my nails get worse than ever.
The only products I've found that seem to help at all are the ones that are
absorbed into the nails. You can't use them with polish, but polish also
destroys my nails so it's not an option. These products are meant to be
used a couple times a day––more if you feel like it. They're easy to apply;
you just slop it on because it's watery rather than like paint. The one I'm
using now is Nutra Nail Aging Nail Growth Treatment. Nutra Nail makes a few
other similar products. They are available in drugstores for less than $10
(maybe around $5 or $6, iirc). It's not a miracle product, but if you use
it religiously...

I've found the same problem... now I don't use any. Instead I daily rub in
a little olive oil, with a drop of lavender if my skin is sore (I'm a
biter!) and I also use a buffer to shine my nails... my nails have improved
so much and I'm using nothing fancy!
