Hi Everyone,
Someone mentioned that she'd have more money if she bought less stuff.
After laughing along with everyone else and some consideration of this
philosophy, I think this is going to apply to my spending habits this
year. So I made one final farewell purchase (teal Perlina hobo bag at
Marshall's) and I'm done.
(I do have to purchase two formals for fraternal use, but I didn't get
to choose them. They're not as bad as the hideous hummingbird item
from a few years ago, but one is pepto pink and the other is silver,
both require enormous crinolines. Just shoot me now...)
Many small boutiques have been opened with less stock than that which
resides in my closet. My makeup case, a large tackle box, no longer
closes. And I am *not* even going to consider the fragrance
collection. So, I'm done for the year.
Here are the rules I've set for myself:
1. No new makeup, clothes, fragrance, purses, shoes, or any other
wearable items
2. Replace soap, hair products, essential grooming/cleanliness items
as needed
3. Replace tights, hose, undergarments as needed
4. Replace foundation, mascara as needed
Anyone care to join me? Maybe a daily thread on "What I didn't buy
today"?
<cries>
Ok, so I'm pretty much with you on the makeup and scent for the most
part. And I've found my haircare HG stuff in Dove.
For the other, I need more clothes, and maybe another bag or two. and
shoes, lots of shoes.
I also need more money for the above. :)

Makeup, it takes believing in. Like a magic carpet, it's belief that
makes it fly. Otherwise, it's just a rug.
If you believe in it, makeup has a magic all it's own.
Of course, makeup is only dimestore magic. But it works well enough,
