Biore nose strips

"PIPER" <le...@mindspring.com>
What was the verdict on these? I have used them in the past and was shocked
at all gunk that came out.I have read though that they may not work as well
as it looks and that it may actually be tearing the pores open even
more.Anyone have any thoughts on this? My poor nose almost looks like a
strawberry (well, not really , but hey I'm my own worst critic).
thanks

If you've used them before then why do you trust anyone else's opinions
over your own? If they work for you, great. If you think that the stuff
on the strips is deceiving and you have to rely on that over looking at
your own nose for reduction in numbers of blackheads then it doesn't
matter whether they work or not. Cosmetically, they've made no
difference for you if all you've got to go on is blackheads stuck to a
plastery piece of papers. When I use them, I see the blackheads on the
strip and most of the blackheads are no longer visible on my nose. The
latter is much more important, isn't it?

I can't use the Biore, but I do use the Clari –T organic nose strips.
They are actually cheaper than the Biore, made with only herbal /
vegetable based products and they do contain Tea Tree which helps keep me
from turning red.
Their website is earththerapeutics.com.

The Clari–T strips are more effective than the current Biore strips for
my nose, although I'd still get use out of Biore strips if the Clari–T
strips were no longer available (they seem to be available at just about
every Whole Foods Market in the Dallas area, in case someone is
interested and has never seen them. I don't know if Whole Foods
generally carries them or if it's regional).
Biore strips seemed far more effective (and painful, although I didn't
particularly care about that) when they first came out. They've been
softer over the last few years so while they may feel better, they don't
seem to do as good a job as they used to for me. I picked up the Kose
version of the strips in a small Japanese market a couple of years ago
and they're so–so in the efficacy department. With the Kose strips I
seem to get metric buttloads of big blackheads (bigger than I ever
thought could fit in such small pores) from the lower third of my nose
but nada from the top two–thirds. The Clari–T strips seem to work more
uniformly but I get no more than half the number of blackheads out from
the lower area of my nose than I usually get with the Kose. I'm thinking
I should use half a Kose strip on the bottom half of my nose and half of
a Clari–T strip on the top half to get the best of both worlds :)
My biggest annoyance with any strip is the attempt to do my chin area.
The blackheads there aren't very noticable but it still bugs me that I
can't get them out. The strips tend to wrinkle and pucker and they seem
not to adhere as tightly to the skin on my chin as they do on my nose.

I've used Ponds. They're gentle, they're cheap, and they don't make my
nose red. I think if you're getting that kind of irritation you s hould
switch to something milder.
If it leaves a little bit of "gunk" behind, so what? You probably won't
notice it, and I think it's preferable than the repeated insults to your
skin.

It is not so much that I trust others opinions as I am wondering on their
safety.I have read that they can damage the pores and wanted to know if that
has proven to be true.

I still use them occasionally. I like seeing the stuff. I will try the
Pond's if they are supposedly gentler.
