Gifts I opened today

caryper...@aol.comnospam (Caryperk39)
Today when I arrived at my office, there was a gift from an business friend– it
was a thank you gift for a little bit of research I did for him – and it was
completely unexpected. Imagine my surprise when inside I found a $500
Nordstrom gift certificate. Woo Hoo! After I called to insist that it was too
much, I started planning on how to spend it. So far I'm considering a cashmere
robe, a rather extravagant handbag, or a fabulous coat. I'd rather buy one
important thing than a bunch of little stuff, so I am surfing the website
tonight – and will hit the store asap!
I also unwrapped a gift found on my front porch – it turns out that it's from
my M–I–L and it's a putty/beige cashmere (80%) pashmina.
What a great day! (In spite of my headache, which accompanied me on the drive
as I dropped off boxes of candy to my clients in the rain)

Whoa! That's awesome!
My vote is for a cashmere robe, mainly because its at the top of my wish
list at the moment. I can't think of anything lovelier than being wrapped
head to toe in cashmere :–D
Enjoy!

Wow what a fabulous gift! The cashmere robe or nice handbag sound like
excellent choices (though I am a handbag whore so I would vote for the
purse).Have fun spending & let us know what you get.

I vote for that too because it's truly a luxury item and nothing I would
ever spend the money on normally.

I can't wait to find out what colour Carey chooses. Bright pink?
A rich red? Navy?
"A Adams" <y...@antispamers.com>
On the doorstep today: A Queen sized feather and down comforter. It was
addressed to my husband and myself from Overstock.com and I have absolutely
no idea who its from. There was no card, nothing.
It's a darn mystery.
gwehr...@bellsouth.net
Dh surprised me with a brass piano lamp – I had no decent lighting in
that part of the room ––now I can drive him crazy with practice at any
hour of the day. He may rue the choice.

My first choice in everything is always red. And it's fun because it's
christmassy, so it makes sense to spend this dough on it. The robe leaves
enough $ for a fun handbag. So this is the way I'm leaning at the moment,
though it would be fun to get 5–$100 things.
I'm actuallyl considering taking my family of 5 to Nordstrom and making
everyone spend $100 on themselves. That would be more fun than anything!

How wonderful, Cary. It's like two gifts in one: The thought of getting to
go spend a free $500 and contemplating the options is a wonderful gift
itself, lol. Then you get to come home with a luxuious real present (or 5
medium ones)! I know your friends, family, clients, and business associates
really appreciate you.

Woo Hoo April! Great gifts at work & what a great friend! I got a package by
mail today and removed the 2 items inside. One is absolutely an umbrella, lol.
Pretty hard to disguise it unless it's in a box! I'm not opening another
thing till Christmas!
Enjoy your goodies!

Wow!! How fun! Congrats, Cary! Be sure and tell us what you spend it on!
Not today but over the weekend we had our gift exchange with DH's side
of the family. I received a lovely mini mock–croc hatbox from BBW with a
bunch of WVS goodies in it. I put all the goodies in the shower and the
hatbox is on my dresser where it will hold my multitude of perfume samples.
I also received a ginormous box of Homedics spa stuff – a
footbath/massage thingie, a face steamer thingie, a big nailcare kit, a
face brush, a relaxation CD and an aromatherapy candle. I haven't tried
any of it out yet but I'm sure it'll help make the holidays more
relaxing around here!
