Homemade Sugar Scrub

maladic...@aol.com (Maladicta1)
I just made a batch and the scent is intoxicating even though it may sound
weird.
I used brown sugar, pulverized oatmeal and rice, Seattle's Best vanilla coffee,
almond oil and for scent: tangerine, lime, basil, ylang ylang.
No exact measurements––sorry.
It's amazing––fragrant but not cloying.

how did you pulverize the oatmeal and rice? in a blender or food
processor?

You could use a Mortar and Pestle. That's how I crushed some aromatherapy
crystal bath salts down in to powder one time. Worked fine and was easy to
clean up.

I would use that if I was crushing a cake eyeshadow or base into powder form.
But for large jobs, I prefer a blender.

Don't the scents of some the oils and especially the basil stay in the
blender for a while? That would be my main concern, since I use my high
powered, small motor blender regularly for making smoothies.

I just use the blender to pulverize. I blend the essential oils later.

Yes, almost *too* easy, as one person on a different NG told me. She joked
that it was "cheating" because it was so alike. ;–)
