Opposing opinion: I love, love, love Lolita Lempicka but cannot
abide Angel,
which is, to my nose, obnoxiously sweet/cloying. It's the licorice
note in the
Lolita L. that makes for the difference, IMHO.
A likeable and very competent coworker drenches herself in Angel every
day, so in my mind Angel might as well be called "Renee." The
chocolate, the patchouli...something there is very wrong on me. On the
other hand, I just started sampling Lolita out of a perverse curiosity
(I hate licorice as a food). Surprisingly, the anise, while present,
is muted on me; the vanilla is a little more pronounced, and I sense
something green that I really find appealing (maybe the ivy). I like
it a lot more than I thought I would, but it doesn't take much and I'm
not sure if I like it enough to buy it.
Bumblebee, you mentioned Michael by Michael Kors as one you might want
to try. That's one of my cool weather favorites...the vanilla/spicy
halo around the gardenia and tuberose works well. In fact, if you're
worried about potency, you might prefer regular strength. I prefer the
Sheer version; I also sometimes just go with the Michael Barefoot Body
Cream, which isn't as expensive as some of the other body products, but
leaves a hint of scent.............Laurie B.
