Laptop/Work bags?

kellyfo...@gmail.com (Kelly)
I'm having trouble finding a good bag for all my work related junk.
Currently I carry:
http://tinyurl.com/572ez (in plum)
This bag is great for lunch stuff, eye drops, wallet, lip gloss, etc.
I go to the same office everyday now, and don't have a laptop.
Now, I'm getting a new position where I'll have not only a laptop, but
also lots of files as well as an 11x17 inch drawing book. I'll be
driving around Washington DC in circles at least weekly, and will be
working from 3 different offices. I can't leave any of this stuff in
my car, so it has to be carried around.
The two contenders I have right now are:
http://tinyurl.com/5ng2x
http://tinyurl.com/7y8cz
Oh, I'll also be going back to school in a few weeks too for my
Masters.
I would like something feminine, and I'm only 5 ft tall, so as small
as possible, but able to fit everything would be the best. I'm also
leaning towards boring black again.
What is everyone else carrying?
Thanks!
Kelly

I've seen similiar Kenneth Cole cases in TJ Maxx for around $100.

I prefer a canvas bag like this one from Land's End:
http://tinyurl.com/4dsbm. (I have an earlier model.) It's quite a
bit lighter weight than most leather bags, and very durable.

My SIL is close to your height and she carries this very cool little laptop
bag:

However this one looks equally cool plus easier to carry and it has more
space:

The Merrell bag is VERY cool, it's just not big enough though. :(
The Komen pink one is one I was looking at too – I kind of want a
shoulder strap though. I might have to get this bag anyways.
And the Lands End one – this one looks nice! I might have to get it
and try it..
Thanks for all the suggestions!!

I don't know how big your laptop is, but honestly, I regret not buying a case
w/ wheels. I know it's dorky, but when you travel or have to walk a long way,
the bag can get very heavy. I would suggest getting something portable, like
the pink bag, and then something that you can stuff and haul around w/ wheels.
I don't know how much you travel, but investing in something w/ wheels too can
help you out.

I heartily agree. Toshiba gives the press a rolling gear bag every year and
they're great for the sort of life you'll be living.
If you feel you *must* have a shoulder bag, get a gel strap and save
yourself a ton of pain.
