Girl presents

...@m.commm (mL)
I have two sons (18 & 21), no daughters.
One son is away at college (with his girlfriend) and the other is in town for
now but has a girlfriend across the country.
Anyway, this Christmas both sons AND their girlfriends will be in town. The
"girls" are 17 and 19. One collects cows and i got her a cute cow plush, the
other asked for nothing but a subscription to Rolling Stones magazine (ok,
that was easy!). I've never met the 17–yr old (the one who collects cows) and
the older girl is kind of a retro/hippie fan.
I wanted to get a couple additional inexpensive gifts for the girls, but both
will be flying home after Christmas so it has to be small and ok to take on
the plane. I'm thinking lipglosses or cream perfumes (not sprays) or fun
socks or jewelry or ??? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I wouldn't chose fragrance because it is such a personal choice. I feel
the same way about jewelry. There are lots of cute lip gloss sets even
Bonne Belle has darling ones for the holidays. Candles are pretty safe
gifts and socks are great. Does the retro/hippie girl have any personal
music favorites. There's a good site for Grateful Dead fans. A
beautiful small photo frame for each girl with a photo of her boyfriend
would also be small, easy to carry and probably appreciated.

For the girls, I would buy a Bath & Body works gift certificate (IMO, you
can always use lotion or a shower gel) or a bookstore gift certif (so they
can buy some reading material for the flight home). Obviously, run this
idea by your sons to see if those gifts are something that the girls would
like.
Another option is a gift certificate to a nice inexpensive local restaurant
so that each couple can have a few hours at dinner to themselves for one
night.

Who feels a bit silly giving gift certificates as prezzies but rationalizes
that since she always likes receiving them, other people will too!
