50 degree high 30 degree low It is the cold after the rain storm. After
breakfast the girls are going back to school so we have to make sure we
send them off with adequate supplies to get through finals. The middle
child finished a scarf and made a hat for me this weekend. It was an
easy pattern, I did not complete and the colors go great with my early
morning walking attire. In the afternoon I will finally decorate the
tree and house since glass ornaments don't mix with a curious kitten.

SUNDAY... It's up to 62 in Houston. Woke up before the alarm clock
(probably overloaded brain with sleep Saturday). Started out morning
with an E–mail check, then a fresh scrubbing. Went to SuperTarget and
spent a LOT of money. Tried to buy a gift card and the clerk tried to
apply it to my total before it was activated; she hung up the cash
register. The supervisor came over and tried to fix it; the cash
register crashed all the way TO THE WINDOWS DESKTOP!!! They ended out
rescanning EVERYTHING at another line. Will go have lunch momentarily.

I will be off to Target also in about two hours. Hope to find an inexpensive
red throw to drape across the wooden bench that is under our roof–sheltered
area by the front door. The bench is near the tree we put in the corner. Also
hope to find more gold and copper toned glass ornaments for this tree. Target
has a very nice holiday decorating department.
Of course I will stop in the makeup department.

Well, I am not shopping at Target due to their pro–GOP policies, but I did
visit the local art museum and saw a wonderful exhibit plus picked up some
presents at the gift shop.
It's a gorgeous sunny winter day. Originally we were going to bike to the
museum, but ran out of time, but I kept my bike–able outfit on:
*Red JCrew twill pants
*Nifty suede lace–ups with brown/pink accents from my friend's shoe line, Joe's
Garb
*Pale pink BR v–neck cotton pullover
*Maroon cashmere cardigan from Sears, yes, Sears
*Darling Ferragamo red scarf decorated with pictures of shoes...the very first
Christmas goody I received in the fashion biz! Actually I nicked it from a pile
of gifts sent to my boss––which she was too bored to open. This dates from 1988
or so.

Colder today than yesterday but it's not supposed to be sunny and not
cloudy. Yay! DH's two out–of–town brothers and their families fly in
today and the others who live in the area will be in and out for the rest
of the week. It'll be fantastic to have a houseful of family and
children! Many of us will fly to Chicago to spend Christmas Eve and
Christmas Day with DH's mother. DH & his father are picking up DH's
brothers and their families at the airport throughout the day and the
rest of us are staying home, cooking, playing cards & games, etc., and
just enjoying each other's company. Today I'm wearing:

57 degrees The fog was so thick last night that we were very worried
about the middle child arriving home safely but she made it home by 7
p.m. So we have a full house of children and cats for the next few
weeks. Today we are baking and doing a few grocery/drugstore errands.
This evening DH and I are going to a holiday party. The girls have
planned an at home movie/spa night and our son is working.

high of 52 low of 32 The mailbox was frozen with ice, but if we
Californians think it is cold, look to the other states. There was a
snowstorm during the Denver football game last night and there was
enough snow on the field for the players to build snowmen. I understand
the field was heated but it looked bad to me. This a.m. I take the car
in to the body shop, pick up a rental and get a pedicure at 9 a.m. I
have to wear flip flops in the cold after the pedicure. How dumb is
that? I plan to continue decorating and gift wrapping most of the day,
but we have a holiday open house at 6 p.m.
