What are *you* wearing today?

"ahmward" <nospam.ahmw...@yahoo.com>
54 degrees rain throughout the day I am spending the morning continuing
to put up holiday decorations. My middle child brought her kitten home
so this is a very slow task until he leaves. This afternoon my youngest
child and I will hit some of the independent store holiday open houses
(every store seems to be hosting an open house this year) as well as to
the Kliszewski glass studio. Her sister has to study :(We are dining
at home this evening with steaks, roasted red potatoes, broccoli in an
olive nut sauce and cabernet. We feed the children well before we ship
them back to school.
Currently wearing Stanford sweatshirt, IM jeans and the world's softest
socks but for the chi chi boutiques I'll change to
red cashmere sweater
black lightweight wool slacks
gold earrings, watch and bracelet
Burberry trench coat
black Gucci messenger bag (small shoulder bag in the black double G
print)
black SW knee high boots or my Pucci rain boots

The rain passed over us during the night so today it is clear, sunny, and
high 50's. It feels a little chilly to me so for a couple shopping errands
and organizing my storage area I layered:
olive green cotton knit turtleneck, ON
baby blue zip–front cotton cable knit hoodie, Gap
natural cargo cropped pants, ON last year
navy and light blue striped suede sneakers with velcro, ON
narrow knit scarf in blues and greens, ON last year
I am into blue/green combos this year.

light aqua ribbed cotton turtleneck (Gap)
cargo pocket jeans with curved slit hems (BR)
reddish–brown clogs with high wooden soles (Nine West)
delicate gold chain drop earrings

Sunny and cool today––only in the low 50s. I have been away since Thanksgiving
night, so my outfit is recycled from then (clean, but recycled):
knee length black denim skirt, black velvet and gold tapestry insert down front
and around waist (and 2 safety pins gathering up 1" on each side so it doesn't
fall off since it's officially now too big to keep wearing––luckily I found
out, when she gave me a beautiful handmade silk scarf today (for no reason
other than she thought I would look good wearing it), that one of my co–workers
is an accomplished seamstress)
black cotton turtleneck
double length taupe tissue silk scarf with iridescent beading
black mid–heel Mary Janes
gold drop earrings with blossom–shaped "diamonds"
usual diamond and sapphire rings
silver faced watch (elongated rounded rectangular face––like an old TV set)
with a row of rhinestones on both sides on a pale pink leather band
for outside: black 3/4 length all weather coat, single breasted, faux fur
collar

Mom still does the same thing when I go back to the Farm for vacation.
In my case, it's chicken and rice along with broccoli.
Unlike most college students, I usually didn't bring home dirty
laundry. Mom kept using the old Maytag wringer washer until it died,
then she got an automatic after they stopped washing for five and
started washing for two. (She also made comments about "learning how
to use an automatic washing machine before she was too old" but I
think that was influenced by HER mother.)
