One thing I notice (and which makes me happy) is that platform sandals seem
to endure out here in LA (not sure if this holds true in other parts of the
country). There was a long period after the 70s I remember where you did not
see them. Now they are a staple of sorts. Even if they are not officially
"in", you can find them on Melrose and in shops like that.
Have you noticed how trends in footwear have changed over time? I
guess I'm the age where one realizes that, lol. I'm not just talking
about what the media presents but also what women actually wear. A
while back looking professional meant wearing closedtoe shoes with a
chunky heel. Then wearing barelythere thongs, slides, and strappy
heels became the norm everywhere. Teens nowadays wear flipflops year
round. I remember a time when younger women wore construction boots.
And a time when summers were spent in bare feet.
Now it looks like those weird bunioninducing pointy shoes are
supposed to be "in." But if my daughters are any indication,
flipflops will never be out of style.
What type of shoes do you prefer, or do you keep up with what's in
style?
