TruBlend on airplane?

musculu...@yahoo.com (Sandy)
Has anyone taken Covergirl TruBlend foundation on an airplane? Did it
leak? It's in a pump bottle so I'm worried about pressure changes.

Sandy,
I don't know the answer to this if you allow it to go in your checked
luggage. If you take it in the cabin with you, it's pressurized so you
shouldn't have any trouble. But I did have one exception to this rule at
one time. My DH and I travelled to Ohio to see family, and returned with 2
or 3 gallon jugs of apple cider. We carried them with us in the cabin
(since they'd been 'working') and stowed them in the overhead bins. Upon
takeoff, while everyone is supposed to stay seated, those damn jugs exploded
and came pouring out of the bins, of course, on the well dressed lady behind
us in first class because the plane was angled upward! I was humiliated
unto death! Noone had any napkins (not that napkins would have helped
anyway; we needed big towels!) and the flight attendants were strapped in as
well. As soon as we began to level off, an FA ran to us and began to try to
mop up the mess in the lady's lap. She was so nice, but I will NEVER carry
anything like that on an airplane again. I'm trying to figure out how to
take a couple of bottles of champagne on the plane to Las Vegas with us in a
few days but my previous experience tells me to not even try it!

Thanks for sharing this story Jamie as it'll be something for all of us
to keep in mind when bringing carry ons. That is a horrible story but
one that I'd never imagined happening. Wonder if the airlines keep that
sort of thing in mind when boarding today?
As for champagne, well I'm sure whatever you find in Vegas will be fine
as it's obviously not worth the risk ;–)

I wouldn't take champagne on a plane but I do carry bottles of wine. I
always put the wine in a carryon I keep on the floor under the seat
never in the overhead bin. When we were young and foolish we stored
jugs of wine on a closet shelf. One explosion taught us never to do
that again. I really don't know why the bottle exploded but it was a
mess.

I've taken it both in my carry–on and in my checked luggage and
never had a problem.

Yes, thanks for all of the commiseration! Thanks goodness it was about 10
years ago and had almost faded from memory. The silly thing is that we had
coddled those darn jugs for 3 days and the flight attendant helped us to
repackage them before we boarded. We were so angry that after all of our
hard work (not to mention the HUGE accident), we had nothing to show for it!
Dennis, I had wanted to buy the champagne in advance because I can get a
better deal on it here (about $5 per bottle) but I told my DH today that
it's worth paying extra to not have to worry about the explosion!
Audrey, I guess you could say that we were young and foolish then, but you
know that's the kind of thing that you never think about until it happens to
you. And I wanted to mention that we were forced to store them in the
overhead bins at the last minute because we were in bulkhead seats, first
class was full, and we had that wall in front of us (nowhere to stow it
under the seat). The closets were full of people's stuff too, so the only
option was overhead. Bad move.
