Microplane grater
I hope this isn't considered spam but I'm not telling you where to buy
one (they are sold everywhere), but seriously I think everyone who cooks
needs a microplane grater so you no longer get skin or nails grater
along with your cheese, citrus rind etc.

i'll have to look for one of these! i'll add a rec for a ceramicblade
mandoline, which can be purchased for $25 at williamssonoma. it's amazingly
sharp and is available in two depths (?), for paperthin and notsothin
slicing.
I really want a mandolin. Based on your post, I went to WS last
night on my way home; the only one they had was on sale for $140,
which I can't justify right now. (I also managed to resist the
microplane grater, but I may go back and buy one today. I have a
decent meat grater, but not a milk one, so I can justify this.) Their
website also has an Oxo (which the store didn't have) for $70. Can
you tell me where you found one in the $25 price range?
