Talika: Lipocils or cream?

ami kio <...@cant–take–anymore–spam.com>
I was looking in the mirror and realized that my lower lashes along my right
eye are almost gone. :p I'd like to lemming the Talika miracle, but I
noticed that Sephora has 2 Talika eyelash conditioning products: one with a
mascara wand, and one in a little jar. Which one is the miracle product?
TIA,

I don't know anything about the product in a jar but I've had great success
with the "mascara" one.

I also use the mascara one. I don't exactly know what the one in the jar is
for, but I know they also used to make a product for eyebrows, so maybe that's
it.
I have the wand type, how and when do you use it?

I wonder if anyone here has used the product in the jar. Here is info
on both from Sephora. I have the wand but have used it for just one
week so I cannot vouvh for it as a miracle product.

I've used the gel like product in the tiny jar. The SA at Pir NYC where I
bought it advised it's the stronger one and to get it in place of the product
with the wand. Then I posted the same question here and someone, if my memory
is correct and forgive me if it's not...agreed that the product in the jar is
the way to go. That said, I'm currently using the wand as my Sephora didn't
have the pot.

I just ordered this in wand form, along with some other things, using the
Sephora Friends and Family code (FF2004). I'm irritated that after placing 40+
orders with Sephora over the years, I didn't receive notification of the code
directly from Sephora. Thank you to the person who posted it here!

OK, the next time any of my lashes decide to go AWOL, I will have to head to
Pir and check out the gel. Good excuse to have a look at the place, since I
haven't been there yet.

I have been there twice and I believe one of the times was when
EatWellBeWell was getting her advice about the lipocils. I wasn't
paying attention so it has taken me a year to get on the Talika
bandwagon. You must go there. They have very interesting lines and the
customer service is great.

Yes, Audrey, you're right, it was during our AFNY day last fall. I distinctly
remember the SA at Pir suggesting the Talika in the pot. I also followed thru
with a post to af and someone here (?Stevie) agreed the pot was better than the
wand. I'll try to Google it and see what I get. IIRC EMD had already left us
that afternoon.

eatwelb...@aol.com (EatWelBWel)
Sorry to top post but how would you apply the cream? Would you dip a
clean mascara wand into it? How could it be applied without using too
much product?
Audrey
I applied the cream as I used to apply Vasoline to my lids, dipping a tiny bit
on my forefinger and coating the lashes.
I stand corrected...sorry Stevie!...I Googled our exchange of last year and you
recommended the product in the tube, saying the Talika line is great, but you
had no experience with the cream/gel in the pot.
I have now used both and my jury is still out.

Looking at the Talika webpg, they recommend the mascara–brush one for
sensitive eyes and contact wearers. Since I'm the latter, I ordered the
Lipocils in the tube.

Actually it wasn't me about the pot though I did call my Talika contacts
and got this info
the cream is actually more gel–like in texture .. and I guess is to be more
at bedtime to improve/enhance your lashes.
for the general info on lipocils, here's the scoop
Talika Lipocils
$35
Any woman with fine, thinning, or short lashes, rejoice–this revolutionary
plant–based gel is scientifically proven to stimulate and replenish natural
eyelash growth. The only brand ever to be authorized by the French
Advertising Claims Bureau to promise eyelash growth, Talika Lipocils makes
lashes reach their maximum length and fullness in twenty– eight days. The
science is simple: When the root of the lash is too weak to produce a lash,
Lipocils steps in and uses its penetration of natural ingredients to
stimulate lash growth. The new lashes that grow in are thicker, longer, and
stronger than ever before. Clinical studies indicate that 63% of women who
used Lipocils on their eyelids gained a 0.5 to 2.5mm in length.
Key Ingredients:
Nettle Extract–Stimulates eye lash growth and invigorates
Horse Chestnut–Increases circulation, strengthens lashes, and relives
congestion in the eyes
Allantoin–Moisturizes the eye area
Soy Lecithin–Liposomes that allow for the active ingredients to penetrate
the eye area and lashes
Witch Hazel–Anti–inflammatory; it heals and soothes the lashes
St. John's Wort–Anti–inflammatory
Apple Extract–Calms, softens, and heals the skin
that's all I know for now

I used my Sephora discount code to get two tubes of Lipocils. I wanted to
try the other stuff but it was out of stock, of course. I had to round up
the purchase with a kohl pencil to get free shipping.

She's probably right – if there was a substance that stimulated the hair
follicles to grow hair, there'd be fewer men walking around wearing rugs. The
best I hope for is that it'll keep the lashes that would have grown anyway
attached and stronger. If fewer lashes break for fall out, the result would be
thicker lashes.

My wise 22 year old told me that the follicle cannot possibly be
stimulated by the lipocils but isn't this how Minoxil works? I think
she was trying to blow my dream of lashes as thick as hers. In my youth
I had very thick lashes. Luckily the hair on my head is extremely thick
but hair on my brows and lashes is thin.
