Hi Everyone, esp. those familiar with Bobbi Brown Is the
information I
received at yesterday's BB Master Class typical of the BB philosphy?
I've been interested in the line for a while, and when the one store
in
town that carries BB offered a Master Class, I booked.
The MA used me as the model, did half my face (she did an amazing job,
btw), then left to catch a plane. While the other class participants
did
their makeup, a store MA finished my makeup. I didn't get a chance to
do
my own makeup but that was ok.
Now, here's the curious thing, to me. My makeup looked great, very
neutral, and I asked what other blush/lipstick colours I could use for
different looks, esp. the palettes (Slope,Dusk, etc.). Nope. Not for
me. I should only use the one blush (Sand Pink), the one lipstick
(Brown), and maybe Raisin. Where's the pink? the Red? the rosy mauve?
I can understand sticking to one foundation, esp. in the winter (she
chose
0 Porcelain with white eye base powder sounds very light but it
worked
with my pale skin, dark hair & green eyes), but is it typical of BB to
allow such limited colour choices for lips/cheeks?
It did look really good... any comments? alexis

Yes, I think it is typical of Bobbi Brown's philosophy but certainly
gets boring after a while. BB always pushes the neutral palette but she
would be out of business if we stuck to just the same colors and never
looked for variations. This is probably what the MA thinks is your best
look, but from my experience I can say I own at least 10 BB lipsticks
and use them all. If I wear lavender, I do not want to wear a red
lipstick; instead I use plum shimmer. I am currently using a BB pink
blush but I also like the variety of Nars blushes or the Guerlain
terracotta for a bronzer in the warmer weather. As you mentioned your
makeup looked very neutral but IMO I like those shimmer palettes for
evening especially this time of the year. At least you had a positive
experience.
