what I bought today

"Stevie" <privilegemagaz...@charter.net>
Hi!
well yesterday I got an email from my local boutique.. the one I haunt on a
regular basis. Cofarb, Cheryl, and Fashiondish know the place...
anyway, they sent out an email to customers about a 40% off ALL denim
sale.... just for bringing in the email printout.
I didn't go yesterday (should have !! they sold a ton of denim. my faves
went out the door)
but today I dragged the SO to the store after lunch (bribery helps!)
and I tried on at least 15 pairs of denims.... came down to james jeans ( I
didn't have any stretch ones to try on.. need to try those!)
COH was waaaaaaay to big.
AG jeans (wave to Karen!)
turns out I dropped 2 inches off my size and wound up in 26 and 27's....
wish they had 7's I could have tried! would have liked that.
caught between James and also AG legends... wound up with the AG since they
had stretch
ran into one of my fave people there, a designer for DOLAN shirts/tops.
remember this name. you are going to see it in magazines thanks to lots of
celeb notice.
this is a very cool line of tops, sweaters, sweatshirts and tees with hand
studding of metal and swarovski crystal studs in various designs like skull
and crossbones; fleur de lis, crosses, stars, dragons.. gorgeous work (
pricy too! eeek)
she gave me 3 to try on and said to pick one. The one I picked was the first
one she gave me, a slightly tiedyed cocoa brown long sleeve shirt with v
neck with this immense cross studded on the back in a rose swarovski crysal
.... it's sooooooooo cool. I looked great with the jeans!
anyway, she's going to work out a deal with the master photog and see about
getting some GREAT photos (and I can get more Dolan!)
anyway, the cost on the jeans was only 90 dollars including the tax. I was
THRILLED to buy brand new, current style jeans for 40% off! that was such a
great deal.

After many years of searching for boots that would fit my calves (15" :p), I
finally found them.
I don't normally go into Naturalizer because a) I never see anything I like
and b) it seems they rarely have sales. But I took a chance today and boy
am I glad I DID!
http://www.naturalizeronline.com/shop_online/item_detl.asp?CID=boots&PID=uptight
These are basically what I got (at least it looks like them, but on the tag
of my boots it says they are called "Beth"). I bought the black ones and
they fit fabulously!!! They don't squeeze my calves, but "hug" them nicely.
And they were 20%!!! (but not the same price as online – if only that was
CAD!!!)
I have a few functions coming up and these will nicely compliment my lbd.
As always, ladies with larger calves – don't fret, because there is always a
boot just around the corner!

I do wash them. I use Dr. Bronner's Soap in Lavender and put them all in my
front load washer. Sometimes I use a lingerie bag, but I haven't lately.
After that I roll them in a towel to soak up the water. Then I lay them flat
to try. I may put them in the dryer on NO HEAT to fluff them up. I have been
doing this for a few years and it works great.

It really is the perfect temperature. I had my heavy wool sweater on
for less than an hour because it was too hot. I usually wear cashmere
to work. I don't need to clean the sweaters more than once a year
unless I spot them.

Excellent buys! I'm very jealous. I love cashmere but have to
restrain myself. I bought my first cashmere sweater a few months ago
– a dark chocolate brown v–neck. I totally splurged on it and don't
regret it at all. I love it so much that I went back to the store
yesterday and got the same one but in a light wheat or oatmeal colour.
I can't wait to wear it today.

I wear cashmere sweaters when it's 65 degrees indoors, or outdoors.
They are so light, yet warm, and not scratchy with a short sleeved
shirt underneath.
Someone here (I think) recommended washing cashmere sweaters in
a lingerie bag, in cold water with woolite or similar cold water
detergent. The sweaters seem even softer after washing that way.
I have a problem buying too many cashmere sweaters at the Lands End
Not Perfect store. Where they sell returned items and things that
don't pass inspection. I've bought 4, (black, brown, blue, red) plus
one for my DH (gray) , in the past year. Right now, there's a pink
cardigan that will be on sale Friday for $60.00. Hopefully, It will
still be there. Yeah, why don't I buy it for $80.00 today.

Whoops! That should have read detachable fur collar. Don't remember who made

Bloomingdales and couldn't resist the 40% off boots sale. I got a pair of

I think these should be called eye glosses but it ended up being a pretty look.

In a situation like that it was absolutely meant for you. If it looks great
on you, then you don't have too many black jackets. That one is certainly
distinctive. ON has some velvet–like jackets with satin ties now. I think
they're selling fast.
