Any mustsee shopping stops? I am coming to down for the Cowboys/Ravens
game and will have Saturday evening and Sunday morning available. I would
love to do a little Christmas shopping while I¹m there. Even the ³usual²
stores are fine with me (Nordstrom, Macy¹s, etc.) but of course I¹m
interested in shopping areas and unusual boutiques.
I¹d also love to hear any great hotel recommendations. Something nice,
perhaps romantic, but not over $200 per night.
³They say the prettiest place on earth is Baltimore at night.² I can¹t
remember the name of the song with that line but it¹s stuck in my head!

Try the Inn at the Governor's House on Calvert St:

Hopefully they still have vacancies. It's very romantic, centrally
located, and price is less than $200/night.
For shopping, Charles street,Broadway/Fells Point for antique/vintage
housewares and clothing. Bertha's in Fells Point is excellent for
food/drink but you may have to wait a looong time, up to 2 hours. Any
of the pizza joints on broadway are good for a quick meal. Max's has a
good selection of beers and decent bar food. The Brewer's Art is a
three block walk from the Governors' House and has good food upstairs
and good selection of brews downstairs. From Fodor's:

You can have a (somewhat disappointing and unimaginative) sandwich in
the bar the fries are awesome! You can sit in the swank dining room
and enjoy topnotch creative fare (the tuna steak melts, the roasted
chicken is sublime with citrus), but skip the soups no creativity
and very underseasoned. Or you can head down to the cellar, "The
Smokers' Art" as it is known here, and enjoy housesanctioned brews in
a very divey atmosphere. It's a great location and beautiful
atmosphere (upstairs, at least!)
About 23 blocks down Charles Street toward downtown there's a good
indian restaurant called the Akbar.
The inner harbor is pretty and has a huge food hall but stores that
are pretty typical. If you have time, visit the aquarium.
If you can make it out to Mount Washington on the light rail, go, go,
go! Lots of cute boutiques and nice restaurants there. The big mall
is Towson Town Center, a bit of a haul from downtown but has Nordie's,
Hecht's, MAC, BBW, Gap and a bunch of the usual stores.
I have tons more info, just email me if you need it!
