Which shoes with black leather skirt?

For a late thirties woman, wishing to wear a just–above–the–knee black
leather skirt to a restaurant with her husband, would a 3 inch heel
black PATENT leather pumps be a good choice?
Anything else?

While I think a patent leather pump would be a fine choice, I would rather see
a colored shoe with a black leather skirt. A burgundy slingback perhaps? Or
olive boots? I'm wondering whether the shiny patent leather of the pump
wouldn't compete with the black leather skirt, which is already a powerful
fashion statement. I think they would war with each other if worn together.

Yep, that's what I was thinking, too. Perhaps the texture of a suede
pump would balance out the shiny factor?

Here's my idea. Black knee–high boots and pale colored fishnets with a
sweater that compliments the color of the fishnets.

My idea is similar; I've done it with a fitted–to–the–waist–above–the–knee
black jumper:
colored bodysuit or top and matching opaque tights (I did burgundy);
knee–high, mid–heel black leather boots.
Add a scarf that has both colors if possible. Or some feminine jewelry.
Colors and some soft accessories allow you to avoid the biker–chick look
(not that there's anything wrong with biker chicks <G>).

BTD: red or white heeled pumps. 3 inch heels are okay. Go for 4s if you have
nice feet.
I agree with the other girls in re shine
You can match the top with the pumps:o
