I have 3 – a black leather Hamptons bag, a black leather smaller ..um...don't
know what you call it but it just fits my essentials, and a soft, suede brown
bag of medium size.
I couldn't tell you what style to buy, but I can tell you that the 3 I own have
been put through h*ll and back and look brand new. I used one of them for 2
years as an everyday purse and it doesn't have a scratch! I just clean them
occasionally with some leather cleaner.
You can't beat 'em for toughness. After having kids stuff everything from
their cell phones to toys in it and never messing it up, I can vouch that
they're worth every cent.

I worked at Marshall Field's during my freshman year of college and accumulated
quite a few Coach bags:
– Black 'Demi' hobo with a silver clasp in the front and shadow monogram
– Camel and off–white monogrammed pochette
– Gray pochette with black monogrammed print & trim
– Bubblegum pink solid pochette with cream trim
My dad loves Coach as he has always used their billfolds, keychains, & wallets,
so he was the one who originally got me started on their purses. My mom has a
lot of their leather bags and they have held up over the years, though they're
not really my style. We also have a couple pairs of the wedge sandals that are
*very* comfortable in the summer.
They have a 'warranty' of sorts and if anything goes wrong with their bags,
they will send it to their vendor for repairs or even allow people to exchange
it in certain circumstances. Regardless, mine have all held up extremely well
and I've brought them with me to class, parties, bars, work, & on vacations.
If you're worried, you can always buy their leather protectant spray– I've
never used any of their sprays or leather cleaners, but I'm assuming the
quality is decent & consistent with the quality of their product line.
I'm currently bidding on the Hamptons red houndstooth framed purse that I've
had my eye on since it was released!
Good luck to you; I'd recommend Coach in a heartbeat to anyone who wants style
& quality in one package.

Man, I own alot of them. Many are vintage, purchased from Ebay and
authenticated at Coach shops.
I own both leather and suede hobos (I purchased a leather one this year and got
a suede one last year for Christmas), a black leather bucket, purple suede one
(do not ask the style, I got it from an online consignment shop), pink suede
fortune cookie from about 3 or so years ago, many wristlets (I own about 6 of
these) and about 9 others that I can't class right now.
Joe carries a Coach billfold too and thinks it's the best quality.

I own many Coach bags, backpacks, briefcases, and furniture, as a matter of
fact.
Coach has, undoubtedly, the finest quality in leather products I've ever
encountered and I've traveled to Italy for leather goods at one time in my life
when I was told that Italian leather couldn't be beat. Not true. When buying
leather, Coach is the only way to go (outside of shoes). I've not heard of
shoes made by Coach.
No doubt you will be happy with any purchase you make.

Another rave for Coach. I got my first one in a consignment/thrift shop for $5
and I've been hooked ever since. I think I have 6 different styles right now,
but don't know what they are all called. I also have a wallet. DH has a belt
and loves it. Quality product.

I have leather, twill and suede Coach bags and they all look great
even with the less–than–gentle use I give them. They don't stain
easily (even the light pink twill) and the hardware is top–notch.
They're not cheap, but I think the quality is worth the price.

Now that Coach has finally acknowledged women with size 11 feet (LOL), I've
been diving into the fun of buying and owning Coach footwear. Of course, I
can't bring myself to pay full retail, at least not yet. :) But there are
some great buys to be found in places like Off Fifth, Nordstrom Rack, in
the Coach outlet stores and even in the regular Coach stores when they have
some styles on sale. Coach shoes and boots are what I've been buying with
my Off Fifth discount postcards of late, and I'm very pleased with what
I've been able to score so far.

Coach bags are a staple in my wardrobe––very classic and as mentioned by
others, of wonderful quality. I think they are the first "high end" brand
of handbag I started carrying. With that said, there are so many that I've
collected over the years, but I can't remember all the style
names.
*Navy blue leather backpack and matching wallet
*Chocolate brown leather drawstring purse
*Black leather Soho business tote
*4 or 5 other assorted black leather purses
*Black Mercer microfiber hobo purse
*Black Mercer leather hobo purse
I've really been tempted by the new Soho tortilla hobo. I've read great
things about how the leather is so soft and supple, but possibly very
scratch–prone too. I'd like to get one in the white leather.
The great thing about Coach is that all of their bags tend to have a lot of
compartments, key holder, cell phone pocket, etc. This is great for people
like me who like to keep everything neat and organized in their purse.

people to exchange it in certain circumstances.
This is one of the main reasons I continue to buy more Coach bags than
any other designer/brand.
One of the very first Coach bags I bought was a small leather flap bag
with a cross–body strap, purchased at an outlet store. I wore the bag
outside in the rain, and the color from the strap bled onto my shirt,
leaving a stain. When I sent an email to customer service telling them
about the problem, and asking if I could buy a new strap, they sent one
free of charge within days.
In a more extreme example, I had purchased a Coach Mercer backpack from a
regular Coach store, and while I loved every other thing about it, it had
an ongoing problem where the finish of the top handles' edges would flake
off. I exchanged the bag for a new one on three separate occasions over a
9 month period, hoping that I had just been getting a "bad" one each
time. Finally, after nearly a year had passed, I gave up being able to
find a "good" one, and Coach refunded my original purchase price in full.
(Yes, I did keep the original receipt the entire time. I'm not the most
organized person, but I do keep *all* my original Coach receipts just in
case this kind of situation happens again.)
Good luck to you; I'd recommend Coach in a heartbeat to anyone who
wants style & quality in one package.
Same here; I've probably got at least 20 Coach bags in all (haven't
counted in a while) and other than the two above examples, each has been
a dream to own and carry. To me, Coach is truly "affordable luxury" (as
I've heard it called elsewhere).

The enormous Sonoma duffle, which is at least 10 years old and still
going strong; the enormous duffle from four years ago; the Hamptons
briefcase/diaper bag (the padded central compartment is ideal for my
laptop); the Hamptons satchel (so cute, but it seems tiny compared to
my enormous duffles); a very old field–bag–style briefcase in pebbled
leather and suede, which my husband has pretty much commandeered; a
smallish beige Sonoma hobo bag (all the bags up to this point are
black); a small ivory Sonoma drawstring bag.
They live forever. They are never really stylish, but they are never
unstylish, either. I would burst into hopeless sobs if the Coach
corporation went out of business.
However, I will never, ever get one of the unlined "natural interior"
bags again, because the black dye (or whatever color dye) gets all
over everything. Thank heaven for the styles with fabric linings!

I have too many. No, really...
Among others, I have leather backpacks in turquoise, red and dark gray. I
have small shoulder bags in lavender and black. I'm actually planning to
ebay some of them soon because I rarely use any of them though they are nice
quality. They just aren't at the top of my list––and I'm hoping to offset a
few other recent purchases by selling some of my Coaches.
Some people say Coach bags aren't what they used to be. I have never had
any problems with mine. I don't abuse them, but I would think they would
hold up to a lot of use. (I always use a leather spray before I put any
leather items––clothes, shoes, purses––into service. Do yourself a favor
and invest the time and money to pretreat your accessories.)

Most of my Coach things are more than 10 years old, and don't have the
fabric linings. I've never had any trouble with them. Obviously,
YMMV, given TdN's remarks. But other than that, a big ditto.
I own about 7 Coach purses –– a black one with a full flap over the
front and a buckle that actually fastens magnetically underneath;
light tan hobo; darker tan doctor's bag; brown envelope–shaped bag
that was their *standard* in the days I bought it; smaller bone bag;
and 2 mini bags, one in maroon leather and the other in brown suede.
The black, tan and brown rotated as my everyday bags for 5 to seven
years and, other than an ink stain on the light tan one, still look
great. In fact, I'm using the black as an everyday bag again this
season.
I also own a Coach wallet. Its about 11 or 12 years old, and is
beginning to show some signs of wear. I've used it pretty much
constantly since purchase. Oh, and a Coach card case. One used to
like teething on that when he was a baby. Other than those teething
marks, it looks like I bought it last week, and its 7 years old!
Coach is definitely a brand to consider buying vintage. Several of
mine (as well as a briefcase) were purchased on ebay at susbtantial
discounts, and generally still are in wonderful condition.

For years, the only signature Coach bag I had was the big original style of
carryall, in red wool. But this year, I've bought the Soho mini–signature
hobo in black, the matching Nokia mini phone case (yum), the Hamptons
signature small carryall in berry (really, it's purple, and I LOVE it), and
the matching large wristlet (perfect size for my Zen Xtra Nomad mp3
player). Yes, I'm out of control.
I've also picked up a bit of Coach signature footwear, just from some good
sales: the Coach optic signature sneakers in berry (more pink than
purple), and the oiled leather/mini–signature boots in both black and brown
(love those buy–1–get–1–half–off Off Fifth sales). Whew...time to take a

Way back when Joan Rivers had a talk show, she interviewed the pampered
mistresses of married men. One mistress complained that her boyfriend
had bought her a Coach bag, an "industrial–strength handbag." (He
should've known to buy her something from Judith Leiber.) That's stuck
with me for probably 20 years now. And my Coach bags have lasted about
that long. I have two city bags, one navy and one black, and a hobo
style in tan that was my daily bag for years. They take abuse if you
condition every so often. If you can get a deal on one, go for it. But
they're actually worth the retail price if you must pay that.

Hi Pam
I have many (too many?) of the signature bags, starting from when they
first came out with the signature clip hobo, in the khaki. Actually,
they even had signature before that, in a winter collection, which was
in wool. And I have their bags in leather, too.
Anyway, I have a Coach Signature Slim Duffle, which came out either
last year or the year before. It's probably similar to the one you
want to buy. On the website, the fabric appears to be the same as on
my bag. I chose the larger slim duffle, because I carry a lot of
things around. The little open pockets inside were great for my
cellphone and keys. So that I could access them easily. The fabric,
which was a dark navy color, was very durable. And I tend to "trash"
my bags, since I'm not very gentle with them. The only minor problems
were that a small, about 1/2", piece of thread began to stick out AND
I managed to get a minor stain on the signature part. I haven't
bothered to clean the stain, but I believe it can be done. Besides,
it's hardly noticeable because of the navy signature fabric. And I
could just trim the thread, since it will not unravel the bag. With
my other signature bags, I have had no problems with loose threads or
the like.
Despite the Coach Signature bags being made of fabric, they do hold up
very well. The fabric is treated, so if they get wet or something,
it's usually a minor problem which can be remedied. The great part is
that many of the bags are leather on the bottom. Which means they
won't wear out there. And as others have mentioned, there is a
warranty, in case you need the bag repaired.
I even occasionally get complimented on my handbag. I think it's fun
to use a bag from several years ago and people look at it with an odd
look. That's because they haven't been a long time Coach fan and
wonder if it's a "real" Coach or not.
I hope you get the bag you like, or better yet, put it on your holiday

ocean duffle that came out for spring and sold out. i use the hamptons
bag for school because i can fit everything in it! its black and i can
abuse it like ever and it doesn't get as much as a scratch on
it...super good quality and im hard on bags! i got the satchel, not
because of the signature fabric, but because i loved the design and its
small enough to be a cutsy evening type bag. i know some people didnt
like em but i thought the design was great! i just purchased the legacy
ocean duffle on ebay because it was sold out already and man did i get a

outfit since i live in earthtones. i wear it either with jeans and my
prada slouch boots with a camisole or black shirt from banana republic
or with a lil black cotton dress and this green scarf that matches the
lime perfectly and ralph lauren kitten heels. i dont use it everyday,
but its fun to make my clothes a lil more interesting, otherwise i use
a lush bag i got right now and my dooney nile.
i love coach and would definately recommend them (but dont tell dooney
because coach is their competition! hahah). my collection includes a
vintage gucci, a ysl, three coaches, a lush, two lambs(by gwen) which
is my second fav!!! and a lamb wallet, i've had several dooneys because
i did some designs for them, but they are very boxy and hard on your
shoulders...i've had the it bag (yuk!), two charm bags(eww), and i was
given a nile, which i like the best.its in taupe, and i think its
gorgeous...and then a bunch i have made because i do bag design. im

hi there,
Usually coach has specific bag models that are their own, they have the
legacy duffles, the satchels, the hamptons bags, and the signatures
(etc...) Each season they basically work off their branded models of
bag shapes, sometimes tweaking them a little, to come up with the next
line...and with so many bags being produced, when they sell out, if
they are not their classics, you would have to go to ebay or something
to get one...since it looks like the satchel, i would try doing a
"coach black satchel" search on ebay and see what you can find. I
bought both my ocean duffle and my black hamptons there...because the
ocean was a limited edition and already sold out everywhere. just make
sure the seller has good feedback, they have pictures of all angles and
include either a receipt from a coach store or certificate of
authenticity. fakes are pretty easy to spot with coachs too. good
luck!^_^
