The military makes only 2 pocket long sleeved shirts. Even dress uniforms have
2 pockets. How much more formal can you get?

The precepts of formality are different in civilian and military attire. In
fact, the MOST formal shirts, either civilian or military, have no pockets at
all.

The miltary needs to keep more in their pockets than do civilians.
