What did you order today?

"ahmward" <nospam.ahmw...@yahoo.com>
My husband is wonderful but when it comes to ordering clothes for me he
asks me to do it for the cat. Yes, we are still trying to civilize her.
So anyway I sent him this neat J Crew link which he told me to order in
my size. I chose this color because I have a pale pink Lauren cotton
cableknit, and I really wanted something brighter.

Audrey, I tried to order some suede ankle boots from Silhouettes (because they
have all shoes/boots in large sizes) but they were completely sold out of all
colors. :(
Ordering gifts from Popcorn Factory to be shipped out as holiday gifts.

I hit the Norides on–line Half–Yearly.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Eye Kohls
Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara in Black
Womyn's Montana Jeans
7's Heffner Jeans
Caslon Black Cords
The only 2 things I KNOW I will keep are the Mascara and eye kohls. The pants
are all crap–shoot.

I ordered 6 pairs of shoes & boots from the Nordstrom sale. I awoke yesterday
to the email reminding me of the sale, and I quickly filled my cart with size
11's and pressed send. I will sort through them when they arrive – I think I
ordered 4 pairs of boots – 2 high, 2 low, 3 black and one tan, and 2 pairs of
shoes – pumps and something more casual....I can hardly remember, but I was in
a size 11 sale–buying frenzy!
When I tried to buy shoes in the store recently, the only 11's were $300 Donald
Pliner pumps that were too dressy & costly for daily use.
I also got 2 pairs for $16 and $24 from Newport News in 11's. The $16 pair was
a keeper (knockoffs of the JCrew loafers with the little leather tie) but the
other flats are going back. They smell bad!
So, if I can find one or two pairs in my Nordys haul, I'll be done shoe
shopping for the winter.

I just got a reminder call from a real person at Saks to tell me about

IMHO, there's more stores than dollars out there.
Besides, nobody wants to be the next bankrupt retailer.
I've had to stop picking on Montgomery Wards as my euphemism for
"bankrupt retailer" because somebody decided to resurrect the store as
a mail–order company, believe it or not:

Yes, items are as pictured BUT I have stopped doing business with
overstock.com. A few months ago I bought a matress pad from them and what
they sent me was both a different brand and size (I needed a queen, they
sent a twin). When I complained, they told me I could send it back if I paid
both shipping AND a restocking fee. I refused to pay a restocking fee on
*their* fuckup and told them in no uncertain terms that I would not be doing
business with them again.
Just my 2c worth.

I've always been pleased with the stuff I've ordered from them. I've
ordered children's clothes, books, and DVDs. The shipping isn't
fast––their shipping prices are incredibly low, so why would it be?––but
the stuff gets here eventually, and it's always a good buy.

Sephora. You run out of a Stila lipstick or Rosebud Salve, and end up
placing a $200 order.
Speaking of that – when I was at one of the Sephoras in NYC, I
couldn't find the Rosebud Salve. Do the brick 'n mortars not carry
it? We were in a hurry and didn't want to be late for a play, so
maybe I just didn't look hard enough.

Jen,
It's been a few years since I've been to a brick and mortar Sephora, so
I can't help you there. But, a few of the Bath and Body Works around
here (Pittsburgh) sell the Rosebud and Strawberry Salve in their stores.
You may want to try there.
HTH!
